The Role
We are looking for a strategic Senior Business Development Manager to spearhead our growth in the Renewable Energy and Power sector. You will drive the conversion of high-value projects, focusing on Utility-scale Solar (LSS), Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS), and Grid Connection Infrastructure.
The role is responsible for originating, developing, and converting project opportunities into secured orders, particularly for electrification solutions including substations, switchgear, and power distribution systems. The position will work closely with internal technical teams to deliver competitive technical and commercial solutions for customers.
In addition to utility-scale projects, the role may also support selected commercial & industrial (C&I) rooftop solar opportunities when required by customers. The role is highly client-facing and requires strong industry connections with developers, EPCs, consultants, utilities, and design institutes.
Key Responsibilities
- Pipeline Growth: Identify and convert opportunities in LSS, BESS, and large-scale electrification (Substations, Switchgear, Distribution).
- Strategic Positioning: Influence project specifications at the early stage by engaging with consultants, design institutes, and utilities.
- Key Account Management: Build and maintain deep-level relationships with Tier-1 developers, EPC contractors, and project investors.
- Technical Sales: Collaborate with internal engineering teams to deliver competitive technical/commercial proposals and navigate RFP/RFQ processes.
- Full Lifecycle Ownership: Manage the sales process from initial concept through to contract award and order confirmation.
Requirements
- Education: Bachelor's Degree in Electrical/Power Engineering or a related technical field.
- Experience: 5–10 years in the Energy/Power industry, with a proven track record in project sales or business development.
- Industry Knowledge: Deep understanding of the renewable energy landscape, including grid connection requirements and power distribution equipment.
- Network: Existing connections with developers, EPCs, and consultants in the energy sector.
- Skills: Strong commercial acumen, negotiation skills, and the ability to translate technical specs into value propositions.
- Mobility: Willingness to travel for client engagement and site discussions.
Preferred Qualifications
- Specific experience with LSS (Large Scale Solar) or BESS.
- Familiarity with Utility-grade substations and switchgear solutions.
- Experience in C&I rooftop solar is an added advantage
