We are currently looking for an experienced and performance‑driven Senior Business Manager, Equipment Finance based in Penang, covering the Northern Region of Malaysia.

You will oversee sales performance, strengthen key vendor and customer relationships, ensure sound risk and credit governance, and develop high‑performing teams while delivering seamless financing solutions.

What awaits you

As a Senior Business Manager, Equipment Finance, you will:

Sales Leadership & Business Growth

  • Drive the achievement of sales targets, penetration ratios, and KPIs in line with business and risk appetite.
  • Develop and execute sales strategies to grow the equipment finance and insurance portfolio.
  • Actively manage key customer, vendor, and dealer relationships to identify and convert new business opportunities.
  • Negotiate commercial terms with customers, equipment vendors, and BMW dealers in competitive market conditions.
  • Leverage equipment finance relationships to support cross‑selling of BMW vehicles and motor financing.

Team Leadership & Capability Development

  • Provide leadership, direction, and governance to Equipment Finance Business Managers in the region.
  • Coach, motivate, and develop team members through structured performance management and training.
  • Conduct onboarding and ensure continuous development of direct reports in line with company standards.

Credit, Risk & Governance

  • Maintain a strong risk culture by ensuring compliance with internal policies, credit standards, and regulatory requirements.
  • Review and support credit assessments to ensure portfolio quality and effective risk mitigation.
  • Ensure pricing and quotations comply with approved pricing matrices and profitability requirements.

Operational Excellence & Stakeholder Collaboration

  • Ensure accurate execution of hire purchase agreements and full compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
  • Coordinate closely with Sales, Credit Acceptance, Settlements, Finance, and Operations teams to ensure smooth end‑to‑end processing, documentation, and funding.
  • Drive integration of insurance processes and actively promote insurance products to enhance profitability.
  • Provide market insights, feedback, and recommendations to support product innovation and business improvements.

What should you bring along

  • Bachelor's degree or professional qualification in Business, Finance, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in equipment financing, financial services, or related fields.
  • Strong knowledge of Equipment Finance, Hire Purchase, Motor Financing, and Credit Risk Management.
  • Proven leadership experience with the ability to coach and develop high‑performing teams.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and negotiation skills.
  • Fluent in English; proficiency in Mandarin and Chinese dialects is an advantage.
  • Confident, self‑driven, and able to perform in a fast‑paced, competitive environment.
  • Willingness to travel within the assigned region.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
