JOB OVERVIEW: -
The Senior Database Administrator, plays a crucial role in designing, supporting, diagnosing, maintaining and optimizing our database systems to ensure scalability, reliability, performance and production.
RESPONSIBILITIES: -
Development Collaboration
- Partner with R&D and software engineering teams to design efficient schemas.
- Assist in query tuning and code reviews for data-related modules.
- Offer input during architectural design for new features and products that rely heavily on data interactions.
Database Management & Optimization
- Design, implement, maintain, and monitor relational and/or NoSQL databases to support both operational and analytical workloads.
- Perform regular health checks, tuning, indexing, and performance optimization.
- Manage high-availability and disaster recovery strategies.
Operational Support
- Act as an escalation point for database-related issues in production.
- Assist support engineers with data diagnostics, recovery, and incident resolution.
- Manage database access, security policies, backups, and migrations.
Innovation & Technology Leadership
- Evaluate and implement new database technologies and architectures (e.g., sharding, data lakes, replication frameworks).
- Lead PoCs and research initiatives for scaling data infrastructure in alignment with business growth.
Data Strategy & Analytics Enablement
- Develop and maintain efficient structures to support BI/reporting tools and analytics pipelines.
- Enable data integration with third-party systems for compliance, fraud detection, and player insights.
REQUIREMENTS: -
- 7+ years of experience in database administration
- Strong experience with MySQL, SQL Server, or equivalent RDBMS.
- Exposure to NoSQL solutions such as Redis or MongoDB is a plus.
- Expertise in performance tuning, query optimization, indexing strategies, and schema design.
- Proficiency with stored procedures, triggers, views, and advanced SQL scripting.
- Familiarity with replication, partitioning, and clustering techniques.
- Understanding of database security best practices and compliance.
- Experience with cloud databases (AWS RDS, Aurora, or GCP Cloud SQL) is a plus.
- Strong communication and collaboration abilities across multidisciplinary teams.
- Detail-oriented with a proactive and analytical mindset.
- Comfortable working in fast-paced, agile environments.
