Job Title: Senior Database Engineer (Oracle)
Location: Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia
Role Duration: 12 months (extendable)
Experience Required: 6–10 Years
Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Senior Database Engineer (Oracle) to manage and support enterprise Oracle database environments. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in database administration, performance tuning, backup and recovery, and high availability setups, along with excellent troubleshooting and stakeholder management skills.
Key Responsibilities:
- Administer and support Oracle database environments in production
- Perform database installation, configuration, patching, and upgrades
- Manage database backup and recovery operations
- Conduct database health checks and disaster recovery (DR) validation
- Monitor database performance and carry out performance tuning and troubleshooting
- Support high availability and clustering configurations
- Collaborate with application and infrastructure teams for issue resolution and optimization
- Ensure database security, integrity, and availability
- Maintain accurate technical documentation and operational procedures
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Strong hands-on experience in Oracle database administration
- Expertise in installation, configuration, and upgrades of Oracle databases
- Experience with backup and recovery strategies (RMAN, etc.)
- Knowledge of high availability, clustering, and DR solutions
- Strong performance tuning and troubleshooting skills
- Good understanding of platform and infrastructure environments
Soft Skills:
- Strong stakeholder coordination and communication skills
- Fluent in English (written and verbal)
- Knowledge of Bahasa Melayu is an added advantage
- Good technical documentation and reporting skills
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in enterprise-scale database environments
- Exposure to data center migration or transformation projects
