Senior Engineer - Instrument

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Engineer mainly in ICSS, Instrumentation and Telecommunication to support the design, engineering and integration of Instrumentation and Control & Safety Systems (ICSS) across oil & gas facilities. The role encompasses responsibilities throughout the project lifecycle from FEED, detailed design, FAT/SAT to commissioning and support during operational phase, ensuring technical compliance, operational reliability, and system safety. As for Telecommunication, the Engineer shall provide engineering support for FPSO telecommunication systems, ensuring safe, reliable, and compliant offshore communications.

Key Responsibilities:

ICSS (DCS/ESD/FGS/PLC/SCADA)

Design, engineering, and integration of ICSS including Distributed Control Systems (DCS), Emergency Shutdown Systems (ESD), Fire & Gas Systems (FGS), Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC).

Develop and review ICSS architecture, I/O lists, system specifications, logic diagrams, Cause & Effect matrices, and interface requirements.

Participate in ICSS FAT, SAT, loop testing, and site commissioning.

Interface and coordinate with ICSS vendors (e.g., Yokogawa, Honeywell, Emerson, Siemens, Schneider, ABB, etc.).

Implement system integration between DCS, ESD, FGS, SCADA, and third-party systems (e.g., compressors, turbomachinery, HIPPS, metering skids).

Support cybersecurity compliance and system hardening based on IEC 62443 / NIST guidelines.

Evaluate proposals, Technical clarifications, Vendor Coordination and TBE preparation

Instrumentation Engineering.

Develop and review instrument specifications, datasheets, sizing (flow, pressure, temperature, level), and hook-up drawings.

Perform instrument selection for hazardous areas (Ex-proof, IS-rated) in compliance with ATEX, IECEx, or local DOSH/SIRIM regulations.

Design and review field instrumentation layouts, cable schedules, and loop diagrams.

Coordinate with Process, Electrical, Piping, Technical Safety and Mechanical teams for instrument interface and control strategies.

Support instrumentation activities during construction, pre-commissioning, commissioning, and start-up.

Telecommunication Engineering

Perform engineering and design of FPSO telecommunication systems (PA/GA, PABX, radio, CCTV, LAN, fiber).

Prepare and review telecom drawings, datasheets, and technical documents.

Ensure compliance with offshore standards, FPSO requirements, and classification rules.

Coordinate telecom interfaces with ICSS, Marine, IT, and Security systems.

Support installation, FAT/SAT, commissioning, and system troubleshooting.

General Responsibilities

Ensure compliance with International Standards (ISA, IEC etc) and other relevant standards.

Mentor junior engineers and review work by subcontractors or EPC partners.

Lead or participate in HAZOP, SIL/LOPA, design reviews, and audits.

Interface with client representatives, classification societies, and regulatory bodies.

Vast experience field instruments.

Ability to handle multiple tasks with minimal supervision.

Prepare documentation for regulatory submissions, internal QA/QC, and handover packages.

Handling Management Of Change (MOC) and preparation of As-Built documentation after work completion.

Qualifications & Experience:

Bachelor's Degree in Instrumentation, Control, Electrical, Electronics or Chemical Engineering.

7 10 years of experience in oil & gas ICSS and instrumentation engineering.

Proven experience with ICSS systems on FPSOs, offshore platforms or floaters.

Familiar with project lifecycle: FEED, detailed design, procurement, FAT/SAT, construction, and commissioning.

Hands-on experience with at least one major ICSS vendor system (e.g., Yokogawa CENTUM VP, Honeywell Experion, Emerson DeltaV, Siemens PCS7, ABB 800xA).

Knowledge of functional safety lifecycle (IEC 61511) and SIL verification using tools such as ExSILentia / SILSolver.

Preferred Certifications:

TV Functional Safety Engineer (IEC 61511) Compulsory for ICSS Engineering.

Cybersecurity (IEC 62443 or NIST-based) Compulsory for ICSS and Telecom Engineering.

BOSIET / HUET (if offshore travel is required).
