About GTPC Global Trade & Product Compliance:
The Global Trade & Product Compliance (GTPC) Department at MR.DIY Malaysia serves as the centralized leadership hub for all import and export operations across MR.DIY's global network. GTPC oversees the full lifecycle of trade compliance, shipment planning, and execution technologies that enable the smooth movement of goods across borders.
Beyond operational enablement, GTPC plays a critical role in strengthening MR.DIY's product trust and brand reputation. Through robust compliance oversight, the department ensures all products meet domestic and international regulatory requirementssafeguarding the company's license to operate in fast-moving retail markets worldwide.
Position Overview Product Compliance Senior Executive:
We are looking for a proactive, detail-oriented, and driven individual to join our Product Compliance team. The Senior Executive will be responsible for overseeing end-to-end regulatory compliance for all import and export products across key categories. This role ensures that every MR.DIY product entering the market is safe, compliant, and aligned with Malaysia's regulatory framework, as well as applicable global standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Regulatory Compliance & Product Approval
- Build, maintain, and update regulatory and technical requirementsincluding international testing standardsfor major product categories such as Household, Electrical Appliances, Medical Devices, Cosmetics, Wireless Devices, Toys, Food & Beverage, and Packaging/Labelling.
- Maintain and manage the company's GDPMD certification, ensuring continuous readiness for audits.
- Monitor and oversee SIRIM & MCMC compliance licenses and applications, liaising with external consultants on audits, inspections, and inquiries.
Documentation, Certification & Filing
- Maintain a comprehensive tracking log for all safety certificates, licenses, permits, and compliance documentation.
- Prepare, review, and endorse supporting documents required for importation or product approvals.
- Submit regulatory filings to relevant authorities and ensure documentation accuracy and completeness (when required).
- Maintain and update internal regulatory databases, records, and reporting files.
Stakeholder Management & Operational Support
- Work closely with Local Import and cross-functional teams to resolve compliance issues during shipment or product onboarding.
- Provide updates in project meetings, highlighting compliance risks and required actions.
- Track, analyze, and report compliance metrics to support continuous improvement and internal governance.
- Monitor regulatory changes and advise management on potential operational or product impacts.
- Carry out additional responsibilities as assigned by the Manager.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree in Biomedical Sciences, Biomedical Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in regulatory compliance, product compliance, or related functions.
- Proven knowledge of Malaysia's regulatory landscape, with experience in Medical devices,GDPMD Certification, SIRIM Electrical, and MCMC communication device regulations preferred.
- Experience participating in audits and inspections conducted by regulatory authorities.
- Comfortable working with third-party agencies, consultants, and within ISO-driven or product compliance environments.
- Strong leadership qualities with excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
- Required languages: Proficient in English, Acceptable in Mandarin, and Bahasa Malaysia.
