SENIOR FINANCE EXECUTIVE

Location: Kuala Lumpur

Reports to: Group Financial Controller (Regional) & Finance Manager (Malaysia)

Employment Type: Full-time

HEPMIL Malaysia is looking for a Senior Finance Executive to support day-to-day finance operations, reporting, and compliance. This role works closely with the Finance Manager and Group Finance to ensure accurate financial execution, timely reporting, and continuous process improvements.

The position is open to candidates at Senior Executive level.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Operations & Closing

  • Manage and execute AP, AR, and GL entries, including reconciliations.
  • Track revenue recognition and validate expenses in accordance with company policies.
  • Support monthly closing activities and ensure timely submission of reports and schedules.
  • Manage invoice processing, staff claims, and weekly payment cycles.
  • Support cashflow monitoring and maintain proper financial documentation for audit readiness.

Reporting & Analysis

  • Prepare monthly management reports and supporting schedules.
  • Assist in budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
  • Provide financial insights and operational support to internal stakeholders.

Tax, Audit & Compliance

  • Support tax computations, SST submissions, and statutory filings.
  • Assist in external audit preparation and respond to auditor queries.
  • Ensure compliance with MFRS, IFRS, GAAP, and internal finance policies.

Process Improvement & Systems

  • Identify opportunities to improve finance processes, controls, and efficiency.
  • Support implementation of system enhancements and finance best practices.

Cross-functional & Group Coordination

  • Work closely with internal teams (HR, Strategy, Business Development, Client Services, Creative) to ensure accurate billing and expense records.
  • Coordinate with Group Finance on reporting deadlines and compliance requirements.

Requirements

Senior Finance Executive

  • Degree in Accounting, Finance, or equivalent.
  • Minimum 2-3+ years of relevant finance or accounting experience.
  • Strong accounting fundamentals and hands-on operational experience.
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and basic tax regulations.
  • Experience with accounting software (Xero preferred).
  • Strong Excel skills (pivot tables, formulas, reconciliations).
  • Detail-oriented, organised, and able to meet tight deadlines.
  • Good communication skills and able to work with finance and non-finance stakeholders.
