Job Description

Sudong Sdn. Bhd., a fully owned subsidiary of Singtel Telecommunications Limited, is recruiting for a Senior Finance Manager - Record to Report (RTR). This role will lead and drive the implementation of a new shared service team with the integration of organization's culture to support the operations of multiple business units within the Optus group of companies. This is a newly created role that will be based in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. The role involves hiring and setting up a brand-new shared services operation with team size of 34.

RTR MISSION

Our mission is to STRENGTHEN and ELEVATE the RTR Team's foundational skills, laying the foundation for the transition from a transactional centre to knowledge-based, data-analytic-enabled operations.

We aim to SIMPLIFY, STANDARDIZE and SCALEall RTR processes to enhance productivity and scalability, i.e., work SMARTER, FASTER and BETTER by leveraging simplified business process excellence and automation technologies.

Make an Impact by:

  • Leadership and Management: Leads the establishment of a new finance shared services centre in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, while managing GL accounting functions for all Singapore business units and international sales offices, and overseeing a team of finance specialists to execute the full monthend close cycleincluding journal postings, bank and balance sheet reconciliations, monthly management reports, annual financial statements, and all required schedules.

  • Shared Service Performance Management: Defines and aligns SLAs and KPIs with key stakeholders while managing performance, and proactively oversees the shared services center's overall delivery to ensure accuracy and timeliness across all outputs, including coordination of all monthend close activities.

  • Compliance and Control: Maintains a strong control environment to ensure compliance with group policies, tax, and statutory requirements, while enhancing control relevance and timeliness, and proactively overseeing shared services centre performance to drive accuracy and timely delivery of all outputs, including full coordination of monthend close activities.

  • Process Optimization: Continuously structures, standardizes, and optimizes financial processes and systems for both the business and the shared services centre, while enhancing SOPs for clearer guidance and easier implementation.

  • Team Development: Inspire and lead a team to provide high-quality services within stipulated turnaround times.

  • Audit Support: Supporting the Auditor, Controller and other financial professionals as needed.

Skills for Success:

  • Degree in business/commercial field or professional accounting qualification, with 15+ years of financial accounting experience in large organizations and over 10 years in people management.
  • Strong technical accounting foundation with broad exposure from daytoday operations to strategy support and decisionmaking.
  • Proven ability to lead, coach, and develop diverse finance teams while building effective crossfunctional relationships.
  • Experienced in driving system and process improvements, with project management and process optimization skills to meet tight reporting deadlines.
  • Strong change management, stakeholder engagement, influence, and negotiation capabilities.
  • Able to operate effectively in fastpaced, evolving environments and contribute significantly to growth strategies.
  • Highly proficient in Excel; experience with SAP, BlackLine, and RPA tools for financial close and reconciliation processes will be an advantage.
  • Demonstrates autonomy, strong decisionmaking, analytical thinking, creativity, and resourcefulness under pressure.
  • Self-starter/pro-active, and a team player with the ability to meet goals and deadlines.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; proactive, detailoriented, and able to meet goals and deadlines efficiently.
