Position Title: Senior Manager, Commercial Excellence
Employment Type: Full-time
The Senior Manager, Commex is responsible to own end-to-end commercial finance and trade investment strategy — driving P&L discipline and trade spend ROI, while building sales team capability and productivity through SFA-driven efficiency, to enable profitable, scalable topline growth across GT and MT channels.
What are the Job Responsibilities
- Trade Investment & Commercial Finance : Own trade investment planning, budget allocation, and ROI tracking across GT and MT channels. Identify underutilized or inefficient trade spend and redirect toward higher-impact, sales-driving activities. Partner with Finance to ensure P&L discipline, margin protection, and accurate trade provision/accrual management. Provide commercial finance analysis to support pricing, promotion, and channel investment decisions
- Sales Force Effectiveness & Productivity (SFA) : Drive adoption and optimization of Sales Force Automation tools to improve field productivity and data accuracy. Identify process inefficiencies across order-to-cash and field operations; lead system/process improvements (e.g. PO interfaces, reporting automation). Own sales performance dashboards and analytics to enable data-driven decision-making across the sales organization
- Sales Capability Building : Design and roll out structured capability programs (e.g. Train-the-Trainer, On-the-Job Training) for MT & GT frontline teams. Build sustained frontline commercial capability in negotiation, distributor management, and execution excellence. Partner with sales leadership to identify skill gaps and develop targeted interventions
- Commercial Strategy & Business Partnering : Act as a strategic partner to Sales Director and NSMs, providing analytical rigor to support channel and RTM decisions. Support development of annual commercial plans, forecasts, and budget submissions. Drive cross-functional alignment with Finance, Trade Marketing, and Supply Chain on commercial priorities
What are the Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in finance, Accounting, Business, or related field; professional qualification (ACCA/CIMA/CPA) preferred
- 8–10 years experience in FMCG, with at least 5 years in commercial finance, trade investment, or sales operations/RTM
- Proven track record managing trade spends ROI and P&L discipline at scale
- Experience with SFA systems and sales productivity/analytics tools
- Prior team leadership experience required Skills & Competencies
- Strong analytical and Excel/data skills; ability to translate data into actionable insight
- Solid grasp of distributor and channel P&L economics
- Stakeholder management across Sales, Finance, and cross-functional teams
- Structured, process-driven mindset with hands-on execution ability
