Job Description

About the Role

We are hiring a high-energy, growth-minded leader to head Corporate IT for the Carousell Group. You will be championing the IT standards practices and operations across our business units, modernise our toolchain, and drive AI-assisted IT operations to keep pace with the Group's rapid growth and native AI operation and build.

You will partner directly with Group CTOs on strategy, collaborate closely with People Experience and Infrastructure & Reliability Engineering, and lead geographically distributed teams across Singapore, Malaysia, Vietnam, Philippines, Hong Kong, Taiwan, India, and Indonesia.

Why Join Us

  • Shape the IT strategy for a Group serving tens of millions of users across Southeast Asia.
  • Work in an AI-native engineering culture that values a builder mindset and rapid experimentation.
  • Lead a meaningful transformation—not just keep the lights on.

Qualifications

Requirements

Must Have

  • 8+ years in Corporate IT leadership, with hands-on experience managing distributed offices and multi-country teams.
  • Proven ability to scale IT operations in a fast-growing, multi-market tech company, you've built for an organisation that has undergone rapid growth, not steady state.
  • Strong security foundation: practical experience implementing Zero Trust, endpoint management (MDM), identity & access management (SSO/SCIM), and data protection/compliance frameworks.
  • AI literacy: demonstrated ability to evaluate, adopt, and operationalise AI-powered tools (e.g., AI assistants, automated ticketing, intelligent monitoring) to improve IT efficiency.
  • Exceptional communication & collaboration: you write and speak with clarity, influence cross-functional stakeholders, and translate technical trade-offs into business language.
  • Track record of coaching and developing diverse, multi-cultural IT teams and managers.
  • User-obsessed mindset: you measure success by employee experience, not ticket closure.

Should Have

  • Experience with modern enterprise tooling: Google Workspace, Slack, Jira, Confluence, Okta or similar IdP, MDM solutions (Jamf/Intune), and cloud-native IT infrastructure.
  • Budget ownership & vendor management: ability to evaluate ROI, negotiate contracts, and make build-vs-buy decisions at scale.
  • Experience rolling out complex, org-wide IT programmes (e.g., SSO system migration, device fleet standardisation, security awareness training).
  • Data-driven approach: uses dashboards and metrics to monitor IT health, SLA adherence, and employee satisfaction.
  • Bachelor's degree in IT, Computer Science, or Engineering (or equivalent practical experience).

Nice to Have

  • ITIL, CISSP, or equivalent certifications demonstrating formal grounding in IT service management or security.
  • Hands-on experience building AI/automation workflows for IT operations (e.g., chatbot-based support, auto-provisioning, anomaly detection).
  • Familiarity with marketplace or e-commerce business models and the unique IT challenges they bring (high transaction volume, fraud vectors, regulatory diversity).
  • Network engineering knowledge (office LAN/WAN, Wi-Fi design, firewall management).
