- Evaluate all new credit applications, credit reviews and other proposals involving credit exposure to the Bank, identify risks associated with such exposures and make appropriate recommendations to facilitate conscious-decision making by credit approving authority.
- No. of new accounts/customers recommended for approval classified as Underperforming or Impaired during the financial year.
- Ensure timely completion of credit evaluation and assisting business units in suggesting risk mitigating terms during evaluation of credit proposalsAttend client presentation and meeting, to Know Your Customer and understand business operation and risks to aid in risk evaluation and decision making.
- Maintain market awareness so as to be vigilant of trends affecting existing and future credit exposures.
- Work closely with Business units to timely identify early warning signals and initiate appropriate remedial actions for deteriorating credits.
- Review and sign off credit ratings submitted by the business units and, where appropriate, recommend upgrades or downgrades in credit rating.
- Exercise delegated credit approving powers within authorised limits/parameters, when necessary.
- Contribute views on credit-related issues during client service team discussions, product readiness assessment, and formulation of internal risk policies.
- Perform check and balance on compliance of internal and external policies and conditions/covenants imposed on facilities.
- Complete Certified Credit Executive and Business Credit Professionals (for those still not completed CCE and/or BCP).
- Identify appropriate behavioral and technical courses to facilitate immediate and long-term professional development.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Economics, Business, Accounting & Finance, or a related discipline from a recognised university; OR
- Relevant professional qualifications (e.g., ACCA, CPA).
- Professional Credit Certification from AICB or its equivalent.
