About the Role
The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) is responsible for providing strategic leadership and overall direction to the company, ensuring the successful execution of its vision, mission, and long-term growth objectives. Reporting to the Board of Directors, the CEO will lead the organization's strategy, operations, financial performance, and stakeholder relationships while fostering a high-performance, values-driven culture.
The role oversees day-to-day operations to ensure efficiency and effectiveness, works closely with the executive teamparticularly the CFOto maintain financial health and regulatory compliance, and represents the company to key stakeholders, partners, investors, and the broader market. The CEO is also accountable for building a strong leadership team, managing risk, and ensuring the organization adapts to evolving market and regulatory environments.
Key Responsibilities
1.Strategic Leadership:
- Develop and execute the company's vision, mission, and overall strategic plan.
- Identify and assess growth opportunities, establishing priorities aligned with the company's goals.
2.Operational Management:
- Oversee the day-to-day operations of the company to ensure efficiency and effectiveness.
- Implement and maintain robust systems for performance management and operational efficiency.
3.Financial Oversight:
- Ensure the company meets financial goals and objectives.
- Collaborate with the CFO to manage budgets, forecasts, and financial reports, ensuring financial health and compliance.
4.Stakeholder Engagement:
- Foster strong relationships with stakeholders, clients, partners, and investors.
- Represent the company at various industry events, conferences, and public engagements
5.Team Development & Culture:
- Cultivate a high-performance culture by providing leadership, mentorship, and development opportunities for the executive team and staff.
- Promote a collaborative and inclusive work environment that encourages innovation and accountability.
6.Regulatory Compliance:
- Ensure that the company adheres to all legal and regulatory requirements.
- Monitor industry trends and changes to adapt business practices accordingly.
7.Risk Management:
- Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies to safeguard the organization's assets and reputation.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, or a related field
- MBA or equivalent postgraduate qualification preferred
- Minimum 10 years of executive-level experience, preferably within financial services, banking, or SME-focused sectors
- Proven track record in strategic planning and execution
- Demonstrated expertise in operational excellence and organizational leadership
- Strong background in financial management, including P&L oversight
- Deep understanding of SME financing, market dynamics, and regulatory frameworks
- Exceptional leadership and people management skills, with the ability to inspire high-performing teams
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities
- Ability to work effectively with Boards of Directors and key stakeholders
- High level of integrity, professionalism, and commercial acumen
