Job Description

Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced and strategic Senior Manager, Legal & Company Secretarial to lead the management of legal, governance, and company secretarial matters within PTP.

This role plays a critical function in protecting the Company's interests, ensuring regulatory compliance, and providing sound legal advisory across a wide range of business operations in a highly regulated and operationally intensive environment.

Reporting & Structure

  • Division: Corporate
  • Department: Legal, Governance & Risk
  • Reports to: Head of Legal & Company Secretarial
  • Direct Reports: Managers, Senior Executives, Executives
  • Key Stakeholders: MMC Group Legal, internal business units, external solicitors

Key Responsibilities

Legal Advisory & Governance

  • Provide strategic and operational legal advice across corporate, commercial, and employee relations matters
  • Ensure compliance with statutory, regulatory, and governance requirements
  • Safeguard PTP's business interests through effective legal risk management

Legal Operations & Risk Management

  • Oversee all legal matters, including contracts, disputes, and regulatory compliance
  • Lead claims management and legal risk mitigation strategies
  • Review processes and identify potential legal exposures to prevent penalties or business impact

Company Secretarial Functions

  • Oversee company secretarial responsibilities including compliance with statutory obligations
  • Ensure proper governance framework and documentation are in place

Reporting & Analytics

  • Lead legal reporting, risk analysis, and insights to support management decision-making
  • Identify trends and provide recommendations to enhance legal and governance frameworks

Stakeholder Management

  • Act as key liaison with internal stakeholders, MMC Group Legal, and external legal advisors
  • Provide timely updates and ensure alignment on legal matters and outcomes

People Leadership & Development

  • Lead, coach, and develop the legal team
  • Build internal capability and ensure succession readiness within the function

Role Impact

  • Strengthens legal governance and compliance across the organization
  • Minimizes legal and regulatory risks
  • Protects PTP's business interests and reputation
  • Supports strategic decision-making through sound legal insights

Qualifications & Requirements

Education

  • Bachelor's Degree in Law (LLB Hons)
  • Admission to the Bar / Certificate of Legal Practice

Experience

  • 10–15 years of relevant experience in legal advisory roles
  • Experience in:
  • Corporate & commercial transactions
  • Highly regulated or operational environments
  • Company secretarial functions
  • Domestic inquiries and employee relations matters
  • Proven experience managing multiple complex legal matters and leading teams
