WE ARE LOOKING FOR .....This role is responsible for overseeing the Mortgage Credit Underwriting and Recovery team. Lead and manage credit activities of AIA Mortgage Department efficiently with proper control, accuracy and due compliance with relevant laws, regulatory guidelines and internal policies.
Mortgage Underwriting and Recovery
  • Lead and manage the Credit Underwriting and Recovery team that support multiple lending products (retail and corporate loans).
  • Oversee the allocation and management of resources amongst the various teams to facilitate efficiency and effectiveness of the functions.
  • Evaluate emerging industry trends, developments and best practices against organization's strategic priorities, products, and services to assess implications on business strategies and operating models.
  • Establish and propose changes in policies and operations control procedures, taking into consideration regulatory and business implications.
  • Drive the design, testing, and implementationof credit strategies to achieve business goals as well as with the modeling and analytics functions, to develop and implement appropriate strategy analysis, MIS, and controls.
  • Responsible for implementing and maintaining all aspects of underwriting and recovery: approve/decline, loan assignment, loan refinance, restructuring, credit eligible criteria for marketing and risk-based pricing.
  • Responsible for the ongoing review and monitoring of the loan portfolio including delinquency & write-off, yield analysis, concentrations of credit, and etc.
  • Lead in product development and pricing study.
  • Ensure completion of customer KYC for AML/CFT/CDD during on-boarding.

Reporting, Ad-hoc Project & Others
  • Ensure timely and accurate monthly submissions and manage all reporting, monitoring, queries, enhancement, training, and issues / problems in accordance to Bank Negara Malaysia's guidelines and requirements.
  • Carry out and participate any other projects as delegated by the Management from time to time.

Job Requirement:
  • Degree in Business/Finance/Banking/Economics/Legal or any other relevant education or related experiences
  • Have at least 12 years of related working experience in financial services industryoncredit, operations, audit and compliance, and aminimum of 5 years experience at managerial level
  • AICB Chartered Banker / Professional Credit Certification Qualification will be added advantage
  • Conversant with Legal / Statutory / Regulatory policies and guidelines relating to retail and corporate lending
  • Other skills - proficiency in MS Office, effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Result driven and effective in managing team and other stakeholders
