Senior Software Engineer

We are seeking a Senior Software Engineer, who will be part of Channel and Data & AI development team. The successful candidate is one who has deep understanding of the web and mobile application architecture and design, micro front-end architecture, micro-services architecture, API principles with hands-on experience in app publishing, SDK integrations, analytics tools, BAU support and GenAI technologies. This role combines technical leadership with active development and collaboration across teams.

Contribute to the web and mobile application architecture and design.

Lead the design, development and deployment of web and mobile applications such as design and develop cloud-native applications using Spring Boot and Java 17, build and maintain Restful APIs, Spring Batch jobs, and implement parallel processing using Spring Reactive or Java features.

Architect scalable and maintainable codebases using modern frameworks and micro frontend architecture.

Understand and implement feature/user stories.

Participate in the coding together with the application development team.

Build Deployment modules and CICD pipelines for SIT, UAT, and Production.

Practice test-driven development.

Work with Kafka and MQ for event-driven architecture.

Plan and collaborate across different domain application teams to manage technical and security related dependencies of the solution.

Plan, monitor and manage risks/issues related to technical application delivery and to provide L3 support as needed.

Partner with Test Manager/Testers to ensure completion of SIT, UAT, Non-Functional Testing and Application Security Testing with quality outcomes.

Act as a subject matter expert in the web and mobile application space and constantly keep up with knowledge of new concepts, emerging technology, and architecture, as well as propose innovative solutions.

Mentor junior developers and enforce coding best practices.

Apply GenAI technologies to enhance code development, code review plus testing, automate workflows, etc.

Problem solver with ability to see things in multiple angles and constantly push boundaries to improve status quo. You are expected to interact with specialist teams like security, compliance and facilitate workshops/meetings to resolve issues.

Escalate issues that impacts project schedule on timely basis and propose workarounds/resolutions.

Provide BAU (Business-As-Usual) support for existing applications, including

o Bug fixes

o Performance tuning

o Minor enhancements

o Incident resolution and root cause analysis

Manage app lifecycle including,

o Publishing to Apple App Store and Google Play Store

o TestFlight and Beta distribution

o Versioning and release management

Integrate and manage third-party SDKs and plugins:

o Firebase plugins

o Google Analytics

o Push Notifications

We are looking for people who

Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering or similar domain. Related professional/technical qualification will be advantageous although not mandatory.

Minimum 8 years of relevant experience in web and mobile application development using Agile or DevOps methodology.

Strong proficiency and experience in Java 17, Spring Boot, Spring Batch, Spring Reactive, and Rest APIs.

Strong hands-on experience with:

o Cordova and Capacitor

o React Native and React Native for Web

o Vue.js 2 and 3

o TypeScript and JavaScript

o Micro Frontend Architecture

o AWS, VMware TAS

Experience with Kafka, MQ and event-driven systems.

Conversant on SQL.

Exposure to DevOps practices and tools.

Experience with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) will be advantageous.

Familiar with monitoring tools (e.g. Prometheus, Granfana) will be advantageous.

Experience with iOS mobile apps management/ development, ApplePay and other related services in the Apple ecosystem will be advantageous.

Worked in a Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery environment with strong appreciation of change/version control process and methodologies.

Worked with automation tools such as Selenium, SOAPUI, Bamboo, Jenkins, Ansible, Marvin, GitHub, Bitbucket, etc.

Working knowledge of application design frameworks, UML or equivalent design artifacts is required.

Working knowledge of Agile methodologies and tools e.g. JIRA, Confluence, HPQC, ServiceNow, etc.

Knowledge of emerging technologies/platforms in Mobility, Analytics, Cloud, GenAI and AGI with a strong self-initiative to keep up with Digital trends.

Application performance monitoring and tuning experience is desired.

Working experience in a financial services industry and/or operating under strict regulatory constraints is an advantage.

Worked on / have certification in Cloud technologies is an advantage.

Good teamwork, good interpersonal and negotiation skill, working independently is essential.
