Objectives of the Position
- To assist in the day-to-day operation, monitoring, and maintenance of the Wastewater Treatment Plant (WWTP) and support waste management activities in compliance with BASF standards, ISO requirements, statutory regulations, and EHS guidelines.
- The role focuses on execution and operational support under the supervision of the Manager, UGF, ensuring smooth plant performance and regulatory compliance.
Main Tasks
Operate and Monitor WWTP Systems
- Carry out day-to-day operation and monitoring of the Wastewater Treatment Plant (WWTP) as per work instructions, ISO standards, statutory requirements, and BASF guidelines under the supervision of the Manager, UGF.
- Record operational data and monitor key parameters to ensure compliance with discharge limits.
- Follow all Environment, Health & Safety (EHS) requirements and maintain safe work practices.
Troubleshooting and Process Support
- Assist in identifying operational issues and support troubleshooting activities as directed by the Manager, UGF.
- Provide accurate data and observations to enable root cause analysis and corrective actions.
- Implement adjustments to processes such as chemical dosing and sludge handling as instructed.
Equipment Care and Reporting
- Perform routine checks and basic preventive maintenance on WWTP equipment.
- Report any abnormalities or potential defects promptly to the Manager, UGF or maintenance team for further action.
Waste Handling and Compliance
- Support Handle scheduled and general waste in compliance with DOE regulations and BASF standards.
- Ensure proper segregation, labelling, and documentation as per procedures.
- Support audits and inspections of service providers as directed by the Manager.
Awareness and Training
Assistance
- Assist in preparing materials and supporting waste management awareness sessions for site employees.
- Promote safe and compliant waste handling practices during daily operations.
Requirements
- Diploma or Degree in Science, Occupational Safety & Health, Environment, Chemical or equivalent.
- At least 5 years working experience in Waste Water Treatment Operation and Schedule waste Management
Technical & Professional Knowledge
- Holding competency (IETS Industrial Effluent Treatment System Biological (BP) & Physical Chemical Process(PCP) and competency as Schedule Waste Management (CePSWAM)
