Trust & Safety Specialist Boutique CSAM & CSEM Review Pod

Role Overview
We are hiring highly skilled Trust & Safety Specialists to join a boutique team focused exclusively on CSAM (Child Sexual Abuse Material) and CSEM (Child Sexual Exploitation Material) casework.
This role serves as the final decision-making layer for high-risk and sensitive cases, requiring strong analytical judgment, ethical reasoning, and investigative expertise.
You will work within a specialized, high-impact environment, ensuring 100% decision accuracy, safeguarding platform integrity, and contributing to policy evolution and risk mitigation strategies.
This is not a general content moderation role it requires advanced, context-driven decision-making.
Key Responsibilities
1. CSAM/CSEM Appeals & Complex Case Review
- Review escalated appeals related to suspected CSAM/CSEM violations
- Assess user-submitted evidence and determine enforcement outcomes
- Make independent, proportionate, and defensible decisions
- Ensure 100% accuracy in all determinations
2. Contextual Judgment & Decision-Making
- Handle ambiguous and policy-silent scenarios
- Apply ethical reasoning and safeguarding principles
- Identify aggravating/mitigating factors, repeat behavior, and evasion patterns
- Ensure balanced enforcement (avoid over/under enforcement)
3. Policy Interpretation & Intelligence Contribution
- Interpret and apply Trust & Safety policies with nuance
- Identify policy gaps, unclear definitions, and emerging risks
- Provide actionable insights for policy refinement and model improvements
4. Investigation & Risk Assessment
- Conduct deep-dive investigations using:
- Metadata
- Behavioral signals
- Case history
- User narratives
- Identify:
- Grooming patterns
- Repeat offenders
- Cross-signal abuse indicators
- Collaborate with Legal/Compliance teams under strict confidentiality
5. Quality, Mentorship & Knowledge Sharing
- Participate in calibration sessions
- Support knowledge sharing and case reviews
- Contribute to best practices and precedent case libraries
Qualifications & Experience
Education
- Bachelor's degree in:
- Law
- Psychology
- Criminal Justice
- Social Work
- Public Policy
- Or related field
- (Equivalent experience may be considered)
Preferred Backgrounds
- Law Enforcement / Cybercrime / Child Protection
- Psychology / Clinical / Trauma-informed care
- Trust & Safety Policy / Governance
- Child Safety NGOs (e.g., NCMEC, IWF or equivalent)
Requirements
- Experience in complex Trust & Safety or sensitive case handling
- Strong analytical and ethical decision-making ability
- Excellent documentation and communication skills
- Ability to pass enhanced vetting & psychological readiness assessments
- C1 level English proficiency
