Job Description
Our client, a fast-growing lithium-ion battery manufacturer in Serendah, Selangor, is looking for an experienced Supply Chain Manager to lead end-to-end supply chain operations — from raw material availability and production planning to inventory and logistics — balancing cost, quality, and delivery as the business continues to scale.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Build and maintain a strategic supplier base aligned with business needs, and lead direct material sourcing and cost-down initiatives.
- Manage new product procurement (NPP) activities spanning equipment and non-equipment purchases, cost reduction, delivery performance, and supplier development.
- Develop and maintain material plans based on customer demand and sales forecasts, working closely with Production, Procurement, Warehouse, and Sales to keep operations running smoothly.
- Keep a close eye on material availability, flagging and resolving supply risks early to protect customer delivery timelines.
- Oversee inventory across raw materials, WIP, and finished goods — maintaining accuracy, appropriate safety stock levels, and supporting cycle counts and reconciliation.
- Regularly review inventory data to keep excess and obsolete stock to a minimum.
- Partner directly with suppliers to secure on-time delivery, evaluating their performance on quality, cost, and delivery, and stepping in to expedite urgent orders or resolve disruptions.
- Coordinate inbound and outbound shipments with internal teams and logistics providers, monitoring shipping schedules, transport costs, and compliance with import/export and hazardous materials regulations.
- Track supply chain KPIs and turn performance data into clear reporting and actionable recommendations for management.
- Drive continuous improvement across the supply chain, including Lean Manufacturing initiatives, process standardization, and ERP system enhancements.
- Follow the company's EHS policies and procedures, and take part in related training and programs.
REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field.
- At least 8 years of relevant experience across supply chain, production planning, logistics, or inventory management.
- Manufacturing environment experience strongly preferred; exposure to battery, electronics, automotive, semiconductor, or chemical industries is a plus.
- Solid grounding in supply chain planning and inventory management principles, including MRP, demand forecasting, and production planning.
- Hands-on proficiency with ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, or similar) and strong Excel skills.
- Sharp analytical and problem-solving skills, with the composure to manage competing priorities under pressure.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management ability, with a detail-oriented, organized, and collaborative working style.
