Job Description

Role Purpose

The Sustainability Manager is responsible for driving the implementation and continuous improvement of the organization's sustainability initiatives, with a focus on environmental and social impact, reporting, and compliance. The role is to lead the execution of sustainability strategies aligned with business priorities and stakeholder expectations, while strengthening internal processes, governance, and cross-functional collaboration.

Working closely with internal teams and external partners, the role contributes to sustainability reporting, monitors performance against relevant frameworks and standards, and supports the integration of responsible business practices across the organization.

The role provides support to Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programmes and initiatives as required, ensuring alignment with broader sustainability objectives.

How You'll Make an Impact

Sustainable Strategy & Execution

  • Drive the implementation of sustainability initiatives aligned with the company's sustainability strategy, focusing on key environmental and social impact priorities.
  • Support cross-functional teams in delivering initiatives that contribute to overall ESG objectives and business priorities.

Sustainable Solutions & Risk Management

  • Manage stakeholder engagement to identify and address sustainability-related risks and issues that may impact business operations and reputation.
  • Monitor developments in sustainability regulations, frameworks, and industry best practices, and recommend practical improvements to strengthen business resilience and performance

Sustainability Management, Reporting & Compliance

  • Drive the implementation of sustainability management processes, including performance tracking, data monitoring, and verification.
  • Lead the consolidation and submission of sustainability data in compliance with Group reporting requirements, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and timeliness.
  • Manage emissions tracking and reporting (e.g. Scope 1, 2, and relevant Scope 3 categories), including maintaining data integrity and audit trails.
  • Coordinate with internal stakeholders to ensure readiness for internal and external audits, including documentation, validation, and responses to audit queries.
  • Monitor progress against sustainability targets and identify gaps, risks, and opportunities for improvement.

Sustainability Communications & Content

  • Act as an internal point of contact for sustainability-related matters and support the development of sustainability content across corporate communication channels (e.g. website, social media, internal platforms).
  • Collaborate with Communications and Customer teams to ensure sustainability messaging is accurate, consistent, and aligned with ESG disclosures and company positioning.

Engagement & Capability Building

  • Support employee engagement and awareness initiatives related to sustainability, including internal communications and training programmes in collaboration with relevant teams.
  • Identify and support participation in external platforms, events, and forums to strengthen the company's sustainability positioning.

Support ESG-Aligned Programmes (including CSR)

  • Support the end-to-end delivery of organization-wide programmes including CSR initiatives by coordinating with internal stakeholders and external partners, ensuring timely execution, proper documentation, and tracking of programme outcomes against defined ESG objectives and reporting requirements.

What You'll Bring to The Job

  • Minimum 5–7 years of relevant experience in sustainability, ESG, or related fields (e.g. sustainability consulting, environmental management, or corporate sustainability). Exposure to CSR or communications is an added advantage but not essential.
  • Bachelor's degree in Sustainability, Environmental Science, Business, Communications, or a related discipline.
  • Working knowledge of sustainability frameworks and reporting standards (e.g. GRI, TCFD, or equivalent) and familiarity with ESG-related regulations and best practices.
  • Experience in sustainability data management, reporting, and performance tracking (e.g. emissions, energy, waste) is preferred.
  • Strong stakeholder management and cross-functional collaboration skills, with the ability to engage both internal teams and external partners.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills in English and Bahasa Malaysia.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel and PowerPoint (experience in data analysis or visualization tools is an added advantage).
