A Trade Marketing Manager in Fast-Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) bridges the gap between brand marketing and sales teams to drive product visibility, retail distribution, and shopper purchase intent at the point of sale.
Key Responsibilities:-
Strategy and Planning
• Create channel-specific trade marketing strategies and promotional calendars aligned with overall brand goals.
• Lead joint business planning (JBP) and category reviews with key retail partners.
• Design go-to-market strategies for new product launches and seasonal campaigns.
In-Store Execution and Merchandising
• Drive merchandising excellence and optimal shelf-space allocation.
• Manage the design, production, and deployment of Point of Sales Materials (POSM).
• Partner with field sales teams to ensure flawless in-store execution of promotions and pricing strategies.
Budget and Financial Control
• Plan, monitor, and optimize the Trade Spend / Trade Terms & Conditions (TTS) budget.
• Evaluate promotional effectiveness and perform post-mortem campaign analyses to ensure high ROI.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
• Work with brand managers to translate consumer campaigns into retail-ready shopper activations.
• Align with supply chain and sales operations on volume forecasting, stock allocation, and distribution rollouts.
E-commerce
• Managing e-commerce enablers to drive sales and marketing goals.
Key Requirements & Qualifications:-
• Education: Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Economics, or a related field.
• Experience: 5 to 8+ years of progressive experience in trade marketing, category management, or channel marketing within the FMCG sector.
• Commercial Acumen: Strong understanding of retail dynamics, distributor networks, and profit-and-loss (P&L) management.
• Analytical Skills: Proficiency in interpreting shopper data, market trends, and sales metrics to create actionable plans.
• Soft Skills: Excellent negotiation, project management, and cross-functional communication abilities.
