Job Summary
We are seeking a Translator (Chinese–English / Malay) to support daily communication between Chinese engineers and local teams at a New Energy Vehicle (NEV) manufacturing plant. This role plays a key part in ensuring smooth production operations, technical coordination, and cross‑functional collaboration.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide on-site interpretation (Chinese ↔ English / Malay) during meetings, technical discussions, training sessions, and daily operations
- Translate technical documents such as SOPs, work instructions, reports, emails, and presentations
- Facilitate communication between Chinese engineers and local departments including Production, Quality, Engineering, EHS, Maintenance, and Supply Chain
- Support cross-functional coordination for manufacturing processes, equipment installation, commissioning, and continuous improvement activities
- Ensure accurate and professional translation of automotive and NEV-related technical terminology
- Assist expatriate engineers with daily communication to enhance efficiency and teamwork
- Perform other duties as assigned by management
Requirements
- Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Languages, Engineering, Business, or a related field
- Proficient in Mandarin, English, and Malay (spoken and written)
- Experience in interpretation or translation within a manufacturing environment is preferred
- Familiarity with automotive or NEV production terminology is an advantage
- Strong communication skills and ability to work in a fast-paced factory environment
- High level of professionalism, responsibility, and confidentiality
