Job Description

Job Title: Warehouse Manager

Location: Shah Alam, Malaysia

Reports to: Supply Chain Manager

Job Purpose

The Warehouse Manager is responsible for daily warehouse operations, ensuring accurate inventory control, efficient order fulfillment, and safe, compliant warehouse practices. This role drives operational excellence, productivity, and service levels while supporting business growth.

Key Responsibilities

Warehouse Operations Management

  • Manage day-to-day warehouse activities including inbound receiving, put-away, storage, picking, packing, and dispatch
  • Ensure timely and accurate order fulfillment aligned with customer and business requirements
  • Plan and allocate manpower, shifts, and resources to meet daily operational targets

Inventory Control & Accuracy

  • Maintain high inventory accuracy through cycle counts, stock audits, FIFO/FEFO practices
  • Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies, damages, and losses
  • Ensure proper storage conditions to maintain product quality and integrity

Team Leadership & Supervision

  • Lead, train, and develop warehouse supervisors and warehouse staff
  • Enforce discipline, productivity standards, and performance expectations
  • Foster a safe, organized, and high-performance warehouse culture

Health, Safety & Compliance

  • Ensure compliance with company SOPs, safety regulations, and local statutory requirements
  • Conduct regular safety briefings, audits, and housekeeping (5S) initiatives
  • Ensure proper handling of equipment, racking systems, and material handling tools

Process Improvement & Reporting

  • Identify opportunities to improve layout, picking efficiency, space utilization, and turnaround time
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives driven by the Supply Chain Manager
  • Prepare and submit operational reports covering productivity, inventory accuracy, and service levels

Key Requirements

Education & Experience

  • Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, Operations, or related field
  • 58 years of warehouse operations experience
  • Minimum 23 years in a supervisory or managerial role

Technical & Functional Skills

  • Strong understanding of warehouse operations and inventory management
  • Hands-on experience with WMS / ERP systems and barcode scanning
  • Familiarity with warehouse KPIs (order accuracy, picking rate, inventory accuracy)

Leadership & Soft Skills

  • Strong people management and on-the-floor leadership capability
  • Good problem-solving and decision-making skills
  • Able to work under pressure and manage tight deadlines

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in FMCG, retail, consumer goods, or manufacturing
  • Exposure to 3PL or multi-warehouse environments
  • Knowledge of 5S, Lean, or continuous improvement practices
