ViewQwest is a Singapore-headquartered service provider delivering connectivity, managed network, and security services across Southeast Asia. Our Finance team supports the accounts of our Group, working closely with multiple business units and markets across Singapore, Malaysia, Philippines, Myanmar, and Hong Kong.

Role Overview

We are seeking a JuniorAccount Executive (General Ledger) to join our finance team, based in Bangsar South, Kuala Lumpur. In this role, you will be responsible for managing full-spectrum general ledger activities, including month-end close, financial reporting, reconciliations, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements. This position is ideal for a proactive finance professional looking to take ownership of GL functions while contributing to operational efficiency and continuous improvement initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the monthly account closing to ensure transactions are recorded accurately and on a timely basis in accordance with company policies and accounting standards.
  • Prepare and maintain supporting schedules for the preparation of monthly and annual financial reports.
  • Assist in the preparation of annual financial statements and supporting audit schedules.
  • Liaise with external auditors and tax agents by providing required documentation and information.
  • Perform bank reconciliations, intercompany reconciliations, and other balance sheet reconciliations on a regular basis.
  • Assist in monitoring and maintaining general ledger accounts to ensure accuracy and completeness.
  • Support the preparation of tax computations and filings such as corporate tax, VAT/GST, and withholding tax where required.
  • Assist in the preparation of management reports and basic variance analysis.
  • Ensure compliance with accounting standards, internal policies, and regulatory requirements.
  • Support improvements in accounting processes and internal controls where applicable.
  • Assist with ad-hoc finance tasks and projects assigned by management.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • Professional qualification such as ACCA, CPA, or equivalent is an added advantage.
  • Minimum 1–3 years of relevant accounting experience, preferably in general ledger or financial reporting.
  • Experience assisting with month-end closing and balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Basic understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting standards.
  • Good analytical and organizational skills with attention to detail.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.
  • Good communication and teamwork skills.
  • Able to work independently and manage tasks within deadlines.
