About Taylor's Schools

Taylor's Schools is the largest private K12 international schools group in Malaysia, with a presence in Singapore and an expansion pipeline into Thailand. For over 20 years, we have been shaping new generations of globally-minded learners.

Each of our six schools offers a unique educational experience, united by a shared commitment to excellence, values-driven leadership, and continuous growth.

As the Group continues to scale, we are strengthening our Corporate Office finance team to support accurate reporting, disciplined governance, and long-term financial sustainability.

Job Purpose

We are seeking a reliable, hands-on and mature Assistant Finance Manager to support group consolidation, routine month-end processes, financial reporting, and statutory matters for holding entities. This is a role suited for someone who values stability, learning, and teamwork, and wants to contribute meaningfully to a well-structured Group Finance function.

You will work closely with the CFO and Finance Managers to ensure timely, accurate and compliant reporting, while supporting continuous improvement across our finance processes.

What We Look For

  • Someone who values stability and consistency.
  • Someone who takes pride in accurate work.
  • Someone who enjoys being part of a small, supportive finance team.
  • Someone who wants to work in a friendly environment without unrealistic demands.

Key Responsibilities

Month-End Close and Group Reporting

  • Assist in preparing monthly consolidated financial statements for the Group.
  • Support the preparation of quarterly Board and Audit Committee financial reports.
  • Perform month-end close for holding companies, including journals, reconciliations, and statutory/administrative payments.
  • Maintain accurate supporting schedules and documentation for audit and review.

Subsidiary Oversight & Compliance

  • Ensure subsidiaries submissions comply with Group accounting policies and timelines.
  • Monitor statutory, financial and tax compliance for holding and dormant companies.
  • Track and support covenant compliance reporting; liaise with financiers as required.
  • Assist in maintaining proper corporate records and audit trails for holding entities.

Forecasting, Budgeting & Financial Analysis

  • Prepare monthly forecasts and annual budgets for holding companies.
  • Support Group-level variance analysis, trend reviews, and management insights.
  • Assist CFO and Finance Manager in ad-hoc analysis and improvement initiatives.
  • Contribute to strengthening financial controls and process efficiencies.

Stakeholder Management

  • Liaise with external auditors, tax agents, and banks to ensure smooth statutory processes.
  • Collaborate with school finance teams to resolve reporting and consolidation matters.
  • Support system enhancement initiatives (SAP/iSAMS) and process automation projects.

Treasury, Intercompany & Administrative Responsibilities

  • Maintain and reconcile intercompany schedules and assist with settlement processes.
  • Support cash flow planning and treasury-related activities for holding entities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting/Finance or recognised professional qualification (ACCA, CPA, MICPA, ICAEW or equivalent).
  • Minimum 5 years of working experience, including at least 3 years in external audit.
  • Experience in group reporting or consolidation is an advantage (willing to train the right candidate).
  • Strong technical understanding of accounting standards (MFRS/MPERS/IFRS) and statutory requirements in Malaysia; exposure to Singapore standards is a plus.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel; experience with ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle or equivalent is an added advantage.
  • Mature, dependable, organised and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Strong time management, attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
  • Good communication skills and the ability to collaborate with stakeholders at multiple levels.
  • High integrity, positive attitude and willingness to learn in a growing Group Finance environment.
