Role Summary
The Assistant Manager, IT is responsible for supporting and managing the Company's IT infrastructure, collaboration platforms, security systems, and end-user services. This role requires strong hands-on technical expertise with supervisory responsibilities to ensure reliable, secure, and efficient IT operations aligned with business objectives.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the IT team to ensure timely resolution of IT issues with minimal business disruption.
- Supervise, guide, and provide technical support to the IT team.
- Oversee and manage Grand stream IP Phone systems, including VoIP configuration, firmware upgrades, troubleshooting call quality issues, and managing extensions and user permissions.
- Ensure smooth operation of CCTV systems and door access controls, including user access configuration, connectivity troubleshooting, and vendor coordination for maintenance and support.
- Administer Microsoft Teams and collaboration environments, including channel setup, user access management, and integration with Microsoft 365 tools such as SharePoint and OneDrive.
- Support and maintain Microsoft 365 email accounts, including distribution lists, shared mailboxes, and license assignments.
- Configure, maintain, and monitor firewalls and network security, implement security policies, review traffic logs, perform firmware updates, and prevent unauthorized access.
- Maintain accurate IT asset records, track hardware and software licenses, conduct regular audits, and manage equipment disposal and replacement.
- Provide system support for IFCA.net modules (e-Invoice, Procurement) and Microsoft 365 applications including Teams, SharePoint, and Outlook.
- Coordinate with external vendors and service providers for IT systems, maintenance, and upgrades.
- Assist in implementing IT policies, procedures, and best practices to improve operational efficiency and security.
- Support company events (e.g., AGM meetings, Townhall etc.) by ensuring all IT-related equipment such as projectors, microphones, speakers, and virtual conferencing tools are properly set up and functioning before the commencement of the official events.
Qualifications & Experience
- Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in IT or a related field; certifications (e.g., CompTIA A+, Microsoft 365) are an advantage.
- Hands-on experience with Grand stream IP Phone systems, Microsoft Teams administration, and Microsoft 365 Exchange Online.
- At least 7 years of relevant IT experience with minimal 2 years of supervisory role, preferably with exposure to infrastructure and systems administration.
- Strong problem-solving ability with a proactive mindset.
- Ability to work independently and provide technical leadership.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in Bahasa Malaysia and English.
