Job Description: Business Development Executive
Company: Supercraft
Role: Business Development Executive
Location: Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia
Employment Type: Full-Time
About Supercraft
Supercraft is a digital identity firm that helps businesses define how they show up, communicate, and convert in the digital world.
We go beyond web design. We help brands clarify their positioning, strengthen their messaging, design better digital experiences, and build websites that act as credibility engines, sales tools, and brand platforms.
Our work sits at the intersection of brand strategy, website strategy, UX, content, and digital growth.
We work with SMEs, legacy businesses, consumer brands, service companies, and enterprise-level clients who are ready to modernise their digital presence and compete more effectively online.
Role Overview
We are looking for a Business Development Executive to help Supercraft turn leads into clients.
Your role is to work inbound leads, qualify prospects, understand their business challenges, pitch Supercraft's value, and close sales. You will be the first human touchpoint for many potential clients, so you need to communicate clearly, ask good questions, and help business owners understand why their digital identity matters.
This is not a typical sales role. You will be selling a strategic service that helps businesses improve how they are perceived, trusted, and chosen online.
Key Responsibilities
Lead Follow-Up & Qualification
- Respond quickly to new leads via WhatsApp, phone calls, email, and other channels.
- Qualify prospects based on business type, goals, urgency, budget, and readiness.
- Understand whether the prospect needs a website, brand messaging, digital positioning, UX improvement, content structure, or a broader digital identity revamp.
- Maintain consistent follow-up with warm leads until they make a decision.
- Update lead status, notes, objections, and next actions in the CRM or tracking sheet.
Sales Calls & Discovery
- Conduct discovery calls to understand the client's business, current digital presence, pain points, and growth goals.
- Ask strategic questions around credibility, positioning, conversion, brand perception, user experience, and digital customer journey.
- Identify gaps in the client's current website or digital identity.
- Explain how Supercraft's strategy-led process can help the client build a stronger online presence.
Pitching & Closing
- Present Supercraft's services confidently and clearly.
- Communicate the difference between a basic website vendor and a digital identity partner.
- Pitch appropriate solutions based on the client's needs.
- Handle objections around pricing, timeline, scope, and comparisons with cheaper providers.
- Follow up consistently and professionally to move prospects toward a decision.
- Close sales and coordinate deposit/payment confirmation.
Proposal & Internal Handover
- Assist in preparing proposals, quotations, and sales summaries.
- Work with the founder or strategy team to shape the right recommendation for qualified prospects.
- Prepare clear handover notes after a client confirms, including business context, goals, pain points, expectations, agreed scope, and timeline.
- Ensure the internal team understands what was promised during the sales process.
Pipeline & Sales Reporting
- Maintain a clean and updated sales pipeline.
- Track lead source, lead quality, call status, proposal status, follow-up date, and deal outcome.
- Report weekly on leads contacted, calls booked, proposals sent, deals closed, and revenue generated.
- Identify common objections and suggest improvements to scripts, offers, follow-up flows, and sales materials.
Requirements
- 1–3 years of experience in sales, business development, client servicing, account management, or a similar role.
- Strong communication skills in English and Mandarine.
- Bahasa Malaysia is an added advantage.
- Comfortable speaking with founders, business owners, marketing teams, and decision-makers.
- Able to understand business problems and explain solutions clearly.
- Strong follow-up discipline and ability to manage multiple leads at once.
- Basic understanding of branding, websites, UX, digital marketing, or creative services is preferred.
- Comfortable using WhatsApp, email, Google Sheets, CRM tools, and proposal decks.
- Self-driven, organised, and target-oriented.
Ideal Candidate
You are likely a good fit if you:
- Can build trust quickly in conversations.
- Enjoy talking to business owners and understanding how their business works.
- Are not just trying to push a sale, but can diagnose what a client actually needs.
- Can explain strategic value, not just features and deliverables.
- Are comfortable selling higher-value services.
- Follow up consistently without being pushy.
- Care about branding, websites, digital presence, and business growth.
- Want to grow into a more strategic sales or client-facing role.
Key Performance Indicators
Performance will be measured based on:
- Response time to new leads.
- Number of leads contacted.
- Number of qualified discovery calls booked.
- Number of proposals sent.
- Proposal-to-close conversion rate.
- Monthly sales closed.
- Pipeline value.
- Follow-up completion rate.
- Quality of CRM updates.
- Quality of client handover notes.
Compensation
- Basic salary: RM 3k-5k (based on experience)
- Commission / performance incentive: RM 2k-5k (subject to performance)
Why Join Supercraft
At Supercraft, you will not be selling generic services.
You will be helping businesses rethink how they appear online, how customers perceive them, and how their digital presence supports trust, sales, and growth.
You will work closely with the founder and creative team, learn how strategy-led digital projects are sold, and play a key role in building Supercraft's sales engine as the company grows.
