Business Development Manager
Key Responsibilities
Business Development & Sales
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities within the FM market (hard, soft, and integrated services).
- Develop and manage a robust sales pipeline to achieve revenue and growth targets.
- Lead the end-to-end sales process, from prospecting and client engagement to proposal submission and contract negotiation.
- Prepare and deliver compelling presentations, proposals, and tenders (RFPs/RFQs).
Client & Relationship Management
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key decision-makers, consultants, and stakeholders.
- Act as a trusted advisor to clients by understanding their operational and strategic FM needs.
- Ensure smooth handover of new contracts to operations teams post-award.
Market & Strategy
- Conduct market research to identify trends, competitor activity, and new service opportunities.
- Collaborate with internal teams to develop competitive FM solutions and pricing strategies.
- Contribute to business development strategies aligned with company objectives.
Internal Collaboration
- Work closely with operations, finance, and technical teams to ensure accurate costing and service delivery proposals.
- Support marketing initiatives such as campaigns, events, and industry networking.
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
- New business revenue generated
- Value and number of contracts secured
- Sales pipeline growth and conversion rates
- Client satisfaction and retention (where applicable)
Skills & Competencies
- Proven experience in business development or sales within the Facilities Management industry
- Strong understanding of FM services (hard services, soft services, or integrated FM)
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and presentation skills
- Ability to develop long-term client relationships
- Strong commercial awareness and financial acumen
- Self-motivated with a results-driven mindset
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, Facilities Management, or a related field (preferred)
- Minimum 10 - 15 years experience in FM Industry and business development
- Knowledge of tendering processes and service-level agreements (SLAs)
