Data Centre Regional Technical Manager

Operations Support | Technical Leadership

About the Role

As the Regional Technical Operations Manager, you are accountable for the full lifecycle performance of all technical assets at the data center. You will ensure high availability of critical services by balancing operational excellence, health and safety, environmental requirements, cost and investment planning, and customer expectations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own all technical aspects of the data center, including electrical, mechanical, security systems, building services, and technical management systems.
  • Maintain technical compliance across testing and commissioning, handover, maintenance, operations, and lifecycle management.
  • Lead problem, risk, and incident management for critical infrastructure and services.
  • Provide technical oversight for projects and produce required reporting and performance insights.
  • Manage and develop a team of electrical, mechanical, and controls subject matter experts (SMEs).
  • Lead site technical teams and coordinate service providers (FM) and suppliers to meet SLAs and operational standards.
  • Drive continuous improvement of maintenance regimes and site operating procedures (MOPs, SOPs, EOPs).
  • Ensure compliance with Vantage processes and applicable local regulations.
  • Review and approve contractor RAMS (risk assessments and method statements) for work undertaken on site.
  • Represent Operations in meetings with key stakeholders and customers, ensuring decisions are fact-based and aligned to operational strategy.

Qualifications & Experience

Required

  • 5+ years progressive experience in technical leadership roles, with demonstrated capability leading teams in critical environments.
  • Experience designing, maintaining, or operating critical environments (data centers preferred) within the Asia Pacific region.
  • Proven experience delivering complex technical projects.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to influence clients, stakeholders, and internal teams.
  • Strategic mindset with the ability to align technical strategy to business goals and customer needs.
  • Results-oriented, accountable, and highly organized.
  • Strong industry awareness to identify trends and emerging best practices.

Preferred

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant technical field (e.g., Electrical, Mechanical); advanced degree and/or relevant certifications (e.g., P.E., PMP, other technical certifications) are advantageous.
  • Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
  • 5+ years data center engineering or operational leadership experience.
