Job Description

Role Summary

The Deputy supports the Senior Director in executing growth strategies, managing strategic partnerships, leading deal execution and driving operational excellence across the business development function.

This role acts as a strategic partner to the Head, providing leadership continuity, operational oversight and execution rigour to achieve sustainable revenue outcomes.

The ideal candidate brings strong business acumen, proven relationship leadership and a track record in sales and partnership development (minimum 15 years) with the ability to influence senior stakeholders and deliver value-driven solutions.

Key Responsibilities

1) Revenue Execution & Deal Leadership

  • Drive execution of revenue and partnership strategies to achieve annual and multi-year targets.
  • Lead end-to-end management of strategic and high-value deals — from opportunity identification, proposal development, negotiation to contract closure.
  • Actively manage and grow the partnership pipeline, ensuring strong conversion rates and predictable forecasting.
  • Identify cross-selling and upselling opportunities within existing partner portfolios.

2) Relationship Management & Account Leadership

  • Build and manage relationships with key decision-makers (C-suite and senior leadership) across targeted industries.
  • Serve as the lead point of contact for strategic partners, ensuring strong engagement, retention and renewal performance.
  • Drive partner satisfaction through effective communication, reporting and value delivery.

3) Commercial Proposals & Deal Execution

  • Oversee development of proposals, concept notes, partnership decks and presentation materials for senior-level pitches.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to design partnership offerings aligned with both client expectations and business objectives.
  • Ensure contracts, agreements and commercial terms are managed with strong governance and compliance.

4) Team Leadership & Performance Management

  • Support the Senior Director in leading, coaching and developing a high-performing business development team.
  • Provide day-to-day leadership, guidance and performance coaching.
  • Monitor individual and team KPIs, ensuring accountability and continuous improvement.
  • Develop internal processes, playbooks and best practices to strengthen team capability.

5) Stakeholder Engagement & Internal Alignment

  • Act as a bridge across internal functions including marketing, finance, operations and delivery teams.
  • Ensure alignment in planning, execution, reporting and stakeholder communications.
  • Represent the organisation in senior-level meetings, events and partner engagements as delegated.

6) Leadership Continuity & Strategic Support

  • Act as second-in-command to the Senior Director.
  • Step in to lead the function in the absence of the Senior Director.
  • Provide strategic input, market intelligence and performance insights to senior management.

1) Revenue & Growth

  • Achieve or exceed annual revenue targets and partnership KPIs.
  • Deliver sustainable revenue growth through new partnerships and account expansion.
  • Maintain strong pipeline health (e.g., ≥3x annual target).

2) Client Retention & Value

  • High client satisfaction and engagement levels.
  • Strong retention and renewal rates (e.g., ≥80–90%).
  • Growth in long-term and strategic partnerships.

3) Strategic Impact

  • Strong cross-functional collaboration and stakeholder alignment.
  • Clear contribution to business growth, brand positioning and long-term sustainability.

Requirements

  1. Minimum 15 years of experience in sales, business development or revenue generation roles.
  2. Strong experience in strategic partnerships, corporate alliances, sponsorships, key accounts or enterprise solutions.
  3. Proven ability to close high-value deals and manage end-to-end revenue pipelines.
  4. Strong communication and presentation skills — comfortable engaging senior stakeholders.
  5. Demonstrated leadership experience in managing teams and driving performance.
  6. Strong commercial mindset with excellent negotiation skills.
  7. Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities and deliver within deadlines.
  8. Experience handling multi-stakeholder partnership models and long-term relationships.
  9. Exposure to brand collaborations, activation campaigns, or co-marketing initiatives is an advantage.
  10. Strong network across corporate decision-makers and industry leaders is a plus.
  11. Financial acumen and analytical capability in revenue or partnership performance management is an added advantage.

Salary Range

RM10,000 - RM15,000
