JOB PURPOSE
Responsible for executing and processing MMHE SCM's Project Material Management Department in daily operations for material management, inventory management and surplus/scrap management in meeting the divisional business goals and compliance to procurement policies, procedures and guidelines as well as to fully utilize resources within budget.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Coordinate and monitor departmental plans, strategies, and initiatives to reduce operating costs and improve material management and logistics operations.
- Assist in managing the department's budget to ensure expenses remain within the approved allocation.
- Track and report departmental performance indicators, ensuring continuous improvement through benchmarking and best practices.
- Monitor resource utilization to achieve cost savings, timely delivery, and smooth operations in support of business goals.
- Support business units in bidding, commercial processes, and project operations by providing material management and logistics solutions.
- Ensure compliance with SCM policies, procedures, guidelines, and governance standards, maintaining process integrity and regulatory adherence.
- Oversee material management, inventory, and surplus/scrap activities to optimize storage, reduce costs, and support project requirements:
- Material Management: Receiving, inspection, preservation, issuance, and defect handling.
- Inventory Management: Monitoring stock levels and warehouse systems to meet project needs.
- Surplus/Scrap Management: Handling surplus materials, preparing inventory lists for reuse, and managing disposal exercises with approval.
- Contribute to SCM improvement initiatives to enhance processes, efficiency, and risk management.
- Maintain strong working relationships with relevant authorities, internal teams, and external stakeholders to support divisional objectives.
- Support capability-building efforts to ensure a competent and high-performing workforce.
- Promote a safe, productive, and positive work environment that fosters excellence, discipline, and integrity.
- Uphold and implement HSE initiatives within the department, embedding safety as a work culture.
REQUIREMENTS
- Degree in Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Business Administration, Management, Economics or equivalent or Diploma with 10 years working in the industry.
- At least 5 years experience in heavy industry with a minimum of 3 years exposure in warehouse management.
