Position: Finance Manager

Reports to: Group Financial Controller (Regional) & Chief Executive Officer (Malaysia)

Employment Type: Full-time

Position Overview:

HEPMIL Malaysia Sdn. Bhd., a subsidiary of HEPMIL Media Group, is seeking an experienced Finance Manager. This role is integral to ensuring the financial health and compliance of the company. The Finance Manager will oversee financial operations, reporting, and strategic planning, supporting senior management in decision-making processes.

Key Responsibilities:

Financial Management:

  • Oversee and manage the full set of accounts to ensure timely and accurate monthly account closures.
  • Handle daily finance operations, including accounts payable/receivable, general ledger, payroll, revenue/expenditure analysis, and asset management.
  • Lead cash management and treasury duties, including weekly payment runs.

Reporting & Analysis:

  • Collaborate with the Group Financial Controller on monthly financial reporting and analysis, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
  • Conduct high-level financial analysis and business performance reviews to support monthly and quarterly senior management meetings.
  • Prepare statutory financial statements and coordinate with external auditors to ensure timely completion of the year-end audit.

Compliance & Taxation:

  • Ensure compliance with statutory filing requirements and prepare tax-related schedules, annual tax returns, and other compliance documentation.
  • Monitor corporate income tax, VAT, withholding tax, and other tax compliance on a monthly, quarterly, and yearly basis.

Strategic Planning:

  • Support the development and implementation of financial policies and procedures, ensuring alignment with government regulations.
  • Provide recommendations for system and procedure improvements and initiate corrective actions when necessary.

Team & Relationship Management:

  • Manage relationships with third-party finance providers and coordinate finance-related activities.
  • Provide weekly finance updates and work progress reports to the Group Financial Controller.
  • Manage general administrative matters and other duties as assigned by the Group FC and General Manager.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accountancy, or equivalent.
  • Professional accounting qualifications such as ACCA, CPA, or equivalent.
  • At least 8 years of relevant experience in finance and accounting, preferably in a start-up or fast-paced environment.
  • Strong understanding of Malaysian Financial Reporting Standards (MFRS), International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS), and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
  • Proficiency in accounting software (preferably Xero) and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and strategic planning skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Strong negotiation skills and commercial acumen.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and spoken in English. Proficiency in Bahasa Malaysia is advantageous.
  • Keen attention to detail and ability to analyse and interpret financial data.
  • Familiarity with local and national tax regulations and corporate compliance requirements.

  • Experience in managing cross-functional teams and leading financial projects.
  • Demonstrated ability to adapt to changes and manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.
