Overview:
We are looking for a detail-oriented and hands-on GL Specialist to support financial operations across multiple outlets. This role will focus on general ledger management, inventory accounting, and ensuring strong financial controls within a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
(Do note that this is a contractor position. Contract duration: 12-months)
Key Responsibilities:
1. General Ledger & Outlet Accounting
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date general ledger records for assigned outlets
- Review daily sales reports, expenses, and petty cash claims to ensure proper accounting treatment
- Monitor outlet-related expenses (utilities, rent, staff claims) and ensure timely accruals
- Support month-end and year-end closing activities, including journal entries and adjustments
- Prepare outlet-level P&L reports and perform variance analysis
2. Inventory Accounting
- Track and monitor inventory movement across outlets
- Perform monthly inventory reconciliations and investigate discrepancies
- Analyze cost of goods sold (COGS) and identify significant variances
- Work closely with operations and supply chain teams on stock transfers, wastage, shrinkage, and expiries
3. Internal Controls & Compliance
- Ensure compliance with internal accounting policies, SOPs, and regulatory requirements
- Support internal and external audit processes by preparing relevant documentation
- Identify and recommend process improvements to enhance accuracy, efficiency, and internal controls
Requirements:
- Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- 3–5 years of experience in GL accounting, preferably within F&B, retail, or multi-outlet environments
- Strong understanding of inventory accounting and cost control
- Experience handling month-end close and financial reporting
- Proficient in Excel and accounting systems
- Detail-oriented, organized, and able to work independently in a fast-paced environment
