Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Human Resources Manager to lead core human resource operations within a higher education environment. This role is suited to a highly analytical and detail-oriented professional who is able to work independently while upholding operational excellence, ensuring regulatory compliance, and fostering a positive and engaging employee experience.

What You'll Do

Compensation & Payroll

  • Lead the full payroll cycle.
  • Ensure accuracy, compliance, and timely processing.
  • Support compensation frameworks, job evaluations, and salary benchmarking.

HRIS, Reporting & Data Management

  • Maintain accurate HRIS (Zoho) data and personnel records.
  • Produce HR dashboards and reports (Power BI).
  • Support audits and accreditation reporting.

Benefits & Employee Lifecycle

  • Manage medical benefits, leave, insurance, and wellness programs.
  • Oversee promotions, transfers, contract changes, and expatriate arrangements.

Policies & Compliance

  • Update HR policies and ensure statutory and audit compliance.
  • Lead annual compliance declarations.

Onboarding & Offboarding

  • Coordinate smooth onboarding and professional exit processes.
  • Conduct exit interviews and provide insights for improvement.

Employee Engagement & HR Projects

  • Lead internal communications, engagement, and wellness activities.
  • Contribute to digitalization, HR system enhancements, and institutional projects.

HR Business Partner (HRBP) Responsibilities

  • Support assigned departments on HR matters, including performance, engagement, and employee relations.
  • Assist managers with recruitment, onboarding, and talent administration.
  • Ensure consistent application of HR policies and processes.
  • Gather HR data and escalate complex issues as needed.

What we are looking for:

  • Degree in HR, Business, Accounting, Finance, Data Analytics, or related field
  • 8+ years of HR operations experience, with strong hands-on payroll expertise.
  • Strong analytical and Excel/Power BI skills; experience with HRIS (e.g., Zoho).
  • Working knowledge of AI tools and automation for process improvement, data insights, and innovation in HR practices
  • Solid knowledge of Malaysian employment laws and statutory requirements.
  • Meticulous, well-organized, and able to manage time-sensitive processes.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently.
  • Excellent communication skills in English.
