Job Description

A Day in Your Life at MKS:

As a Logistics Import & Export Officer at MKS greenfield organization, you will be responsible for overseeing the operations of a Licensed Manufacturing Warehouse (LMW), ensuring compliance with customs regulation; facilitate smooth import export of goods in logistics operations.

You Will Make an Impact by:

  • Prepare all LMW shipping reports not limited to customs monthly or yearly reports such as finished goods, raw material, sub-contractors, schedule waste and scrap disposal.
  • Engage with customs agencies to submit for all the necessary application including license renewal, Bank Guarantee/Bon Am to ensure compliance.
  • Coordinate with freight forwarders, customs brokers, and port authorities to ensure timely clearance.
  • Experience in handling Smart GPB, DagangNet, e-Declare, e-Permit, e-Permit STA, e-PCO, CoO and other OGA portal submissions.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of customs tariff codes, duty structures, HS codes and calculation of duty and taxes to ensure accurate declaration.
  • Review and audit import/ export filling to ensure declarations are timely, accurate and complete.
  • Recommend ongoing improvements to import/export procedures to enhance efficiency, compliance, and cost saving. Handle customs-related issues such as shipment holds, document amendments, and re-submissions.
  • Oversee daily import and export processes, ensuring accurate handling of all related documentation.
  • Familiar with FTA between Malaysia and other countries. Knowledge of Malaysian customs regulations and international trade practices.

Skills You Bring:

  • Degree/Diploma in Logistics, Supply Chain Management and Customs on import/export regulations (local and international) with minimum 5-7 years experience in a LMW environments.
  • Deep understanding of local trade (import/export) taxes, duties, bilateral trade agreements and harmonized codes and rules around country of origin is a MUST for this role.
  • Strong knowledge of tariff classification topics as well about existing Free-Trade-Agreements, HS Codes classification, customs clearance procedures, and other relevant logistics processes
  • Familiar with DagangNet and Smart GPB system.
  • Have high integrity, sense of urgency, meticulous attention to detail and the ability to maintain accurate records and documentation with minimum supervision.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and resolve issues quickly and efficiently
  • A team player with a positive attitude, able to work well under pressure and commitment to continuous improvement
  • Proficiency in Warehouse Management Systems (Oracle EBS) and Microsoft Excel
