Job Description

EndtoEnd Payroll Processing

  • Prepare and process monthly payroll for multiple clients / entities (salary, overtime, bonuses, commissions)
  • Check and ensure accuracy of payroll input data (time records, leave, deductions etc.)

Statutory Compliance

  • Ensure payroll is in line with Malaysian laws: EPF, SOCSO, EIS, income tax deductions, local labour laws etc.
  • Prepare and submit payrollrelated statutory filings / reports (e.g. EPF contributions, tax deductions) on time.

Payroll Administration & Records

  • Maintain payroll databases, employee information.
  • Handle queries from employees/client regarding payroll (e.g. payslips, deductions, overtime).
  • Ensure confidentiality and accuracy of payroll data.

Reconciliation & Review

  • Reconcile payroll ledger/accounts.
  • Review past payrolls / audits of payroll if required.
  • Ensure that bank transfers / disbursements of salary are correct.

Client / Internal Liaison

  • Liaise with clients or internal stakeholders (HR, Finance) for payroll inputs, changes, policies.
  • Possibly assist in implementing payroll policies or payroll system setup for clients.

Process Improvement & Documentation

  • Maintain or help enhance SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures) for payroll.
  • Report any issues or discrepancies and suggest improvements.

Ad hoc Tasks

  • Possibly year-end adjustments, bonus calculations, salary reviews, etc.
  • May be called upon to assist in HR related tasks adjacent to payroll (e.g. leave management, benefits administration) because of the HR / Accounting intersection in this company.

Job Requirements

  • Minimum: Diploma or Degree in Accounting / Finance / Human Resource or related field.
  • Some payroll experience, probably 13 years or more.
  • Experience with Malaysian payroll statutory requirements (EPF, SOCSO, tax deductions etc.).
  • Strong Excel skills.
  • Understanding of payroll systems, ability to do reconciliations etc.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Good communication (to deal with clients / staff).
  • Ability to meet deadlines, work under time pressure.
  • Confidentiality and integrity, since payroll involves sensitive personal data.
  • Being organized, able to manage multiple clients or entities possibly.
  • good command of both English and Malay for documentation / statutory compliance.
