Our Manufacturing Plant in Puchong Selangor is hiring a Supervisor - Production. This role is responsible for overseeing daily manufacturing operations to ensure production targets, quality standards, and safety requirements are met. This role involves managing production teams, working with support teams, monitoring workflow, troubleshooting issues, and implementing continuous improvement initiatives to optimize efficiency and reduce costs
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Production Control & Operations - Supervise daily production activities in accordance with approved production plans, schedules, and work instructions. Ensure production output meets quantity, quality, and delivery requirements. Monitor line performance, productivity, downtime, scrap, and rework. Optimize manpower and machine utilization to achieve production efficiency and take immediate corrective actions when production deviations occur.
- Team Supervision & Workforce Management - Lead, supervise, and motivate production operators and Specialists. Assign duties and responsibilities based on skills, competency, and production requirements. Conduct shift briefings and daily communication on targets and issues. Train new and existing employees in standard operating procedures (SOPs), quality standards, and safety rules. Monitor attendance, overtime, and discipline in accordance with company policies.
- Quality Assurance & Compliance - Ensure all production activities comply with ISO 9001 and applicable quality management systems. Enforce adherence to approved SOPs, work instructions, and control plans. Identify quality issues and initiate corrective and preventive actions (CAPA). Support internal, external, customer, and regulatory audits. Drive continuous improvement to reduce defects, rejections, and customer complaints.
- Safety, Health & Environmental (SHE) Responsibilities - Ensure compliance with ISO 45001, ISO 14001, and local safety regulations. Enforce safe work practices and proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE). Identify hazards, report unsafe conditions, and participate in risk assessments. Investigate incidents, near misses, and implement corrective actions. Promote safety awareness and maintain a safe and clean workplace
- Equipment, Maintenance & 5S - Ensure machines, tools, and equipment are operated correctly and maintained in good condition. Coordinate with Maintenance for breakdowns, preventive maintenance, and equipment improvements. Ensure daily machine checks and maintenance records are completed and implemented and maintain 5S and housekeeping standards in production areas.
- Continuous Improvement & Cost Control - Support Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen, and productivity improvement initiatives. Identify opportunities to reduce waste in materials, labor, time, and energy. Participate in root cause analysis and process improvement projects. Support cost reduction initiatives without compromising quality and safety.
- Documentation & Reporting - Maintain accurate production records, shift reports, and KPI data. Prepare daily and monthly production performance reports. Ensure proper documentation is maintained for audits and management review. Communicate production performance, issues, and improvement actions to management.
- Cross Functional Coordination - coordinate with Planning, Quality, Maintenance, Warehouse, and Engineering teams. Ensure timely availability of materials and resources for production. Escalate risks affecting production, quality, safety, or delivery commitments..
Skills & Experiences:
- Knowledge of Production Management and manufacturing processes
- People Management skills – Planning and Organizing
- Computer knowledge in Microsoft office: Words, Excel & Power Point and ability to learn new system
- ISO 9000 and 14000 Quality Management system
- Able to manage projects – set priorities and strong organization skills
- Problem solving tools such as 8D, 5 Why, etc.
- Ability to write report
- Knowledge in Lean manufacturing system
- Good leadership, communication & interpersonal skills.
- Independent and resourceful.
Education:
- Degree in Mechanical / Electrical / Chemical /Electronic Engineering or relevant qualification.
- 5 years experience in Manufacturing environment
