Sales Engineer

AVA are currently looking for a Sales Engineer to support our client based in Malaysia, with a strong electrical or mechanical engineering background to support and grow our clients Motors and Generators business across Malaysia. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys combining technical expertise with customer-facing sales and solution development.

The Role:

As a Sales Engineer, you will act as the technical and commercial interface between customers, internal engineering teams, and supply partners. You'll be responsible for identifying opportunities, developing solutions, and supporting customers across industrial, power generation, utilities, and heavy engineering sectors.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and manage customer relationships across Malaysia
• Promote and sell electric motors, generators, and related services
• Provide technical support during pre-sales, including product selection and application advice
• Prepare quotations, proposals, and technical documentation
• Work closely with engineering, service, and operations teams to deliver solutions
• Identify new business opportunities and market trends
• Support site visits, customer meetings, and occasional commissioning or technical discussions

What We're Looking For:

• Degree or diploma in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline
• Proven experience working with Motors, Generators, Rotating equipment, or power systems
• Background in technical sales, applications engineering, service engineering, or project support
• Strong understanding of industrial customers and applications
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
• Willingness to travel within Malaysia
