Job Description

The Senior Executive, Legal & Compliance will support the Head of Group Legal in managing legal, compliance, corporate secretarial, trademark, licenses and ISO certification matters across the Group, with a focus on Singapore and Malaysia entities.

Responsibilities

  • Contract & Risk Management - Drafting, reviewing, and negotiating a wide range of commercial contracts, including but not limited to tender documents, service agreements, collaboration and partnership agreements, supply agreements, distribution and resale agreements, teaming agreements, tenancy agreements, and outsourcing agreements. Identifying potential legal and contractual risks and advising business stakeholders on appropriate risk mitigation measures.

  • Corporate Secretarial Matters - Providing support for corporate secretarial matters, including assistance with board meetings and annual general meetings (AGMs), preparation of board and shareholder resolutions, and liaison with external counsel and corporate secretarial service providers.

  • Litigation & Dispute Resolution - Providing legal advice and support on early-stage disputes, and managing, coordinating, and liaising with external counsel on litigation and other dispute resolution matters.

  • Legal Research & Advisory - Conducting legal research and providing advice on contractual matters, employment and labor matters, personal data protection laws, and other legal issues relevant to the Group's operations. Monitoring and reporting on legal and regulatory developments that may impact the Group's business activities.

  • Corporate Governance & Compliance - Supporting the development, review, and periodic update of Group-wide policies and procedures. Ensuring compliance with applicable local laws and regulations, as well as Group policies and internal governance frameworks.

  • Trademark & Intellectual Property - Supporting the management and maintenance of the Group's trademark portfolio, including liaising with external counsel on trademark applications, renewals, and related matters. Advising on intellectual property rights, including licensing and usage arrangements.

  • ISO Certification Matters - Providing support and coordinating with internal stakeholders and external auditors on ISO certification matters, including quality, occupational health, and safety management systems.

  • Ad-hoc Matters - Assisting with other ad-hoc legal, compliance, and corporate projects as assigned by the Head of Group Legal from time to time.

Requirements

  • A recognised law degree, with proven experience in handling a broad range of legal matters.
  • Minimum 5 years postqualification experience (PQE), preferably gained from reputable law firms, multinational corporations (MNCs), or other wellestablished organisations. Experience supporting or advising listed companies (including familiarity with listing rules, disclosure obligations, and corporate governance requirements) will be an advantage.
  • Additional certifications and/or experience in corporate governance, compliance, data protection, risk management, or related disciplines will be a plus.
  • Strong contract drafting, review, negotiation, and communication skills in English. Ability to review contracts and business correspondence in Bahasa Malaysia and/or Bahasa Indonesia will be an advantage. Mandarin proficiency (spoken, written, and reading) is a plus.
  • Experience in managing and supporting investigations, disputes, and litigation proceedings, including coordination with external counsel.
  • Familiarity with corporate secretarial practices, statutory filings, and regulatory compliance requirements.
  • Prior experience in listed companies and/or the telecommunications or IT industry will be an advantage.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently across multiple jurisdictions, manage competing priorities efficiently and effectively, exercise sound legal judgment and proactively escalate matters with potential strategic or Groupwide impact.
