Our client is seeking a senior legal professional with strong expertise in corporate commercial matters, corporate finance, and litigation.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead M&A, joint ventures, shareholders agreements, restructuring, share sales, and corporate exercises
- Draft, review, and negotiate commercial, service, and strategic agreements
- Handle corporate finance matters including financing arrangements, security documents, and funding structures
- Islamic finance / Sukuk exposure is an advantage
- Provide practical, commercially sound legal advice
- Manage corporate, commercial, and contractual disputes
- Advise on litigation strategy and dispute resolution
- Liaise with and manage external counsel, including review of pleadings
- Lead matters independently end-to-end
- Supervise and mentor junior lawyers
- Engage with stakeholders, regulators, banks, and advisors
Key Requirements
- LLB (Hons) from a recognized university
- Advocate & Solicitor of the High Court of Malaya
- 1015 years experience in corporate commercial, corporate finance, and litigation
- Strong drafting, negotiation, and advisory skills
- Proven ability to manage complex matters independently
- Commercially minded with strong leadership and communication skills
- In-house and/or public listed company experience is an advantage
- Sukuk / Islamic finance experience is an added advantage
