Position Overview
HEPMIL Malaysia is seeking a commercially driven and strategic Senior Manager, Business Development to lead revenue growth.
This role is responsible for driving new business acquisition, strategic partnerships, and long-term revenue expansion, while managing high-value client relationships and overseeing commercial execution across multiple accounts. The ideal candidate is a strong hunter with strategic leadership capabilities, possessing 6–10+ years of experience in media, digital, advertising, influencer marketing, or content ecosystems.
This individual thrives in fast-paced environments, demonstrates strong commercial instincts, and has the ability to translate creative solutions into measurable business outcomes. This role also plays a critical part in shaping commercial strategy, pipeline development, and team mentorship, ensuring sustainable and scalable revenue growth.
Key Responsibilities
1. Business Development & Revenue Growth
- Drive new business acquisition by identifying, pitching, and closing opportunities with brands, agencies, and partners.
- Own and manage the full sales cycle, including prospecting, qualification, pitching, negotiation, and deal closure.
- Develop and execute strategic revenue plans to consistently meet and exceed quarterly and annual targets.
- Identify and pursue new revenue streams, including integrated campaigns, branded content, creator partnerships, and platform collaborations.
- Maintain a strong pipeline of qualified leads and opportunities to ensure predictable revenue flow.
- Explore and develop long-term commercial partnerships with key clients and stakeholders.
2. Strategic Client & Agency Management
- Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with key brand and agency stakeholders.
- Serve as a senior commercial advisor to clients, providing insights on content strategy, creator engagement, and platform performance.
- Identify upsell, cross-sell, and renewal opportunities across existing accounts.
- Manage key strategic accounts and ensure high client satisfaction and retention.
- Represent HEPMIL at client meetings, industry events, and networking engagements.
3. Campaign & Commercial Leadership
- Lead high-value client engagements from concept to delivery, ensuring alignment on campaign objectives, timelines, budgets, and KPIs.
- Collaborate closely with Creative, Strategy, Production, and Client Success teams to ensure successful campaign execution.
- Ensure smooth handover between sales and delivery teams while maintaining commercial oversight.
- Monitor campaign profitability and ensure margin targets are achieved.
4. Proposals, Pitching & Commercial Strategy
- Lead the development of strategic proposals and pitch presentations across the HEPMIL ecosystem.
- Translate creative ideas into commercially viable solutions aligned with client goals.
- Develop pricing strategies, rate cards, and bundled offerings that maximize revenue opportunities.
- Lead contract negotiation discussions with clients and partners.
- Participate in major pitches and strategic presentations with senior stakeholders.
5. Market Intelligence & Industry Leadership
- Stay updated on digital media trends, including creator economy developments across platforms such as TikTok, Instagram, YouTube, and emerging platforms.
- Analyze competitor activity and industry trends to identify new growth opportunities.
- Provide clients with market insights, campaign learnings, and performance recommendations.
- Contribute to thought leadership initiatives, including presentations, industry panels, or internal knowledge sharing.
6. Team Leadership & Mentorship
- Mentor and support Business Development Managers and Executives to strengthen sales capability and commercial acumen.
- Provide coaching on pitching, negotiation, and client relationship management.
- Set performance expectations and provide regular feedback to team members.
- Support hiring, onboarding, and development of new commercial talent.
- Foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, and high performance.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor's Degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, or related field.
- Minimum 6–10+ years of experience in business development, media sales, partnerships, or client management.
- Proven track record of independently sourcing, pitching, and closing high-value deals.
- Experience in digital media, influencer marketing, content marketing, or advertising is highly preferred.
- Strong network of brand and agency contacts within Malaysia is a strong advantage.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple stakeholders and complex commercial projects.
- Experience leading or mentoring junior team members is preferred.
