Universal Robina Corporation is looking for an Trade Marketing Manager (Malaysia).

Job Responsibilities:

Category Analysis

  • Analyse category and sub-category trends, pricing movements, and competitive shifts.
  • Identify growth drivers, opportunities, and risks.
  • Provide actionable insights for the Category Development Playbook.

Category Planning

  • Provide category inputs into Brand Plans, highlighting issues and opportunities.
  • Translate Brand & Budget Plans into full annual category plans.
  • Develop and deliver the Category Development Playbook for internal deployment.

NPD/EPD Commercialisation

  • Co-develop customer launch decks with Brand.
  • Develop pre-launch plans, forecasts, pricing guidelines, promo objectives, and rollout communication.
  • Create 12-month promotional support plans for all launches.

National Promotion Calendar (Brand)

  • Lead promotional briefs including objectives, forecast volumes, POSM alignment, and evaluation criteria.
  • Monitor sell-out performance and evaluate promotion effectiveness.

Sales Plan Execution & Monthly Bulletins

  • Cascade category plans and trade presenters to Sales.
  • Ensure execution compliance across sub-channels.
  • Provide ongoing status updates and address non-compliance with corrective actions.

Market Intelligence

  • Track competitor launches, promotions, and key activities.
  • Recommend defensive/offensive strategies and trigger internal War Room discussions when needed.

Budget & Category Spend Management

  • Develop the annual Category Spend Framework aligned to strategic priorities.
  • Ensure investments are targeted, efficient, and supported by clear objectives.
  • Review BTG (Balance to Go) performance and adjust plans when needed.

Gap Planning

  • Identify performance gaps by sub-channel, especially in MT.
  • Diagnose root causes and propose quick-win enablers.
  • Develop, cascade, and track actions with Channel Heads.
  • Document learnings from gap closure initiatives.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Marketing, Business Administration, or related field.
  • Minimum 58 years of experience in trade marketing, brand marketing, or sales within the FMCG industry, with strong exposure to Modern Trade & General Trade.
  • Solid understanding of traditional trade dynamics, shopper behavior, and market activation strategies.
  • Proven track record in planning and executing trade campaigns with measurable results.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to derive insights from data and translate them into actionable plans.
  • Excellent project management, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint; experience with Nielsen or retail audit data is a plus.
  • Self-motivated, agile, and able to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
