Job Purpose

The Vice President, Safeguarding supports schools to maintain the highest standards of safeguarding and child protection. The role involves evaluating safeguarding policies and practice, guiding improvements, ensuring regulatory compliance, and building strong, collaborative relationships with school leaders and external partners to deliver safeguarding excellence across all Taylor's Schools.

This position includes conducting safeguarding reviews, delivering professional training on all levels of safeguarding training to internal staff and external vendors, analysing data to inform decision-making, and supporting schools during crisis or emergencies relating to safeguarding matters. He/She plays a key role in fostering safe, supportive, and high-quality learning environments for students and staff.

Key Responsibilities

Safeguarding Oversight & School Support

  • Review annual safeguarding self-assessments and validate findings through visits, observations, and online review meetings.
  • Support schools to address identified areas for improvement, working closely with safeguarding leads, principals, and senior leadership teams.
  • Provide guidance to ensure compliance with organisational policies and relevant local regulatory frameworks.
  • Assist schools during safeguarding crises, emergencies, or critical incidents in partnership with senior organisational leaders.
  • Advise on complex child protection cases and support schools with improvement planning.

Training, Development & Capacity Building

  • Deliver safeguarding and child protection training (including advanced/Level 3 training) to school teams across the region.
  • Ensure staff are kept up to date with emerging safeguarding trends, legislation, and best practice.
  • Contribute to the development, review, and updating of safeguarding, wellbeing, and child protection policies.
  • Support the creation and refresh of training materials and resources.
  • Ensure safer recruitment practices are embedded across all schools

Quality Assurance & Compliance

  • Develop and implement a robust safeguarding review and audit process aligned with organisational and local regulatory requirements.
  • Conduct safeguarding and wellbeing audits in schools and provide clear, analytical feedback reports.
  • Ensure safeguarding processes are fully integrated into broader organisational quality assurance frameworks.
  • Monitor, escalate, and track safeguarding concerns in line with policy.

Data, Reporting & Insight

  • Review and analyse safeguarding and wellbeing data from schools to identify patterns, trends, and areas for intervention.
  • Provide data-informed recommendations that support improvements in safeguarding outcomes.
  • Support due diligence processes for potential school acquisitions and guide new schools through onboarding and transition to organisational standards.
  • Lead the establishment of a single central record of all staff data at all schools

Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement

  • Build strong, trust-based relationships with school leaders and relevant external stakeholders.
  • Offer constructive challenge and support to ensure continuous improvement in safeguarding practice.
  • Promote and share best practice across the region and facilitate professional learning networks.
  • Work collaboratively with other functional and regional teams to embed safeguarding and wellbeing across operational and strategic workstreams.

Professional Requirements

Skills, Knowledge & Experience

  • Considerable pastoral and/or safeguarding experience within a School environment and/or recognised professional qualifications and experience relating to safeguarding or social work
  • In-depth knowledge and understanding of Working Together to Safeguard Children and Keeping Children Safe in Education legislation
  • Ability to interpret and collate local safeguarding regulations across multiple jurisdictions.
  • Strong analytical skills, with confidence in working with complex datasets.
  • Excellent organisational capabilities, able to manage short-term priorities while planning long-term objectives.
  • High-level interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage diverse stakeholders.
  • Ability to work independently, exercising initiative, creativity, and sound judgment.
  • Proven resilience and capacity to support designated safeguarding leads during challenging situations.
  • Cultural sensitivity and the ability to work effectively across varied national and cultural contexts.
  • Results-focused, with the ability to meet deadlines, exceed expectations, and align actions with key performance indicators.
  • Commitment to working in a purpose-led, mission-driven sector.
  • Experience in safeguarding practices in K12 international schools in South East Asian context
