Roles & Responsibilities

1. Food Safety and Quality Governance

Support the implementation of SDGI food safety and quality policies, standards and governance requirements across Business

Units.

Assist BUs in interpreting and applying food safety, quality assurance and product safety requirements in line with corporate, customer and regulatory expectations.

Track BU compliance status, identify gaps and follow up on agreed action plans until closure.

2. Audit, Certification and Supplier Quality

Plan, coordinate and support internal audits, supplier audits and certification-related activities across relevant BUs.

Prepare audit plans, checklists, reports and follow-up trackers to ensure timely closure of findings and corrective actions.

Support centralised certification and documentation standardisation initiatives, including coordination with certification bodies and BU representatives.

3. Regulatory and Customer Requirement Monitoring

Monitor relevant food safety, quality and regulatory developments affecting oils and fats operations, including CODEX, EU and local requirements.

Summarise regulatory changes, customer requirements and potential business impacts for management and BU action.

Maintain awareness of emerging contaminants, customer expectations and market access requirements relevant to SDGI products.

4. Customer Complaint and Corrective Action Governance

Review customer complaint trends, investigation reports and corrective action status to support consistent complaint handling across BUs.

Verify and validate completed complaint investigation or CCAR reports where GOE-FSQA review is required prior to BU Head approval.

Coordinate Learning from Complaints and Learning from Audits initiatives to share recurring issues, root causes and preventive actions across BUs.

5. Laboratory Performance, GSAM and LIMS Support

Coordinate GSAM ring test activities, including participant alignment, sample planning, result compilation, statistical review and follow-up on questionable or outlier results.

Support laboratory method harmonisation, testing capability reviews and QC data reliability initiatives across SDGI laboratories.

Coordinate LIMS-related activities, including training, system upgrade follow-up, data integration matters, vendor communication and BU readiness tracking.

6. Data Analysis, Reporting and Digital Initiatives

Compile, analyse and report FSQA performance data, including complaints, audit findings, certification status, GSAM outcomes and relevant quality indicators.

Support the development and maintenance of dashboards, trackers and management reports using tools such as Excel, Power BI and Minitab.

Ensure reported data is complete, traceable and suitable for management review, KPI tracking and continuous improvement follow-up.

7. Training, Workshop and Stakeholder Coordination

Coordinate FSQA workshops, QAQC meetings, technical sharing sessions and training programmes for BU QA/QC teams and relevant stakeholders.

Prepare agendas, keynotes, action trackers, meeting minutes and follow-up communications to ensure clear ownership and timely completion of actions.

Maintain effective working relationships with BUs, R&D, Commercial, Procurement, Group Digital, certification bodies, suppliers and external service providers.

8. Administrative and Governance Support

Prepare IOMs, approval papers, formal correspondence and documentation required for FSQA governance, project alignment and management endorsement.

Maintain structured records for audits, certifications, complaints, GSAM, LIMS, training, regulatory updates and agreed BU action plans.

Provide timely administrative and coordination support to ensure FSQA deliverables are executed effectively and professionally.

Ideal Candidate

1. Education / Professional Qualification

  • Degree in Chemistry, Food Science, Industrial Chemistry, Biochemistry,
  • Food Technology or a related discipline.
  • Professional certification or training in food safety, quality management, auditing, HACCP, FSSC 22000, ISO 22000 or ISO 9001 will be an added advantage.

2. Professional Experience

  • Minimum five years of relevant experience in food safety, quality assurance, quality control, laboratory operations or manufacturing quality, preferably within the oils and fats or food manufacturing industry.
  • Experience in audits, certification support, customer complaint handling, root cause analysis, corrective action follow-up and regulatory or customer requirement review.
  • Exposure to laboratory data, proficiency testing, LIMS, Power BI, Excel, Minitab or similar analytical/reporting tools will be an added advantage.

3. Technical Experience

  • Food Safety and Quality Systems: Working knowledge of HACCP, FSSC 22000, ISO 22000, ISO 9001, GMP+, customer requirements and relevant food safety regulations.
  • Audit and Corrective Action Management: Ability to support audits, evaluate evidence, review root cause analysis and follow through on corrective actions.
  • Laboratory and Data Management: Able to interpret QC data, support proficiency testing, coordinate LIMS-related matters and prepare accurate reports or dashboards.
  • Communication and Documentation: Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to prepare clear reports, minutes, IOMs and management updates.
  • Registered Chemist with IKM is optional but preferred.
