About the Role
This role is responsible for developing, implementing, and updating Group credit risk policies to ensure consistent application across the Group
Key Responsibilities
Responsibilities
- Work with senior management in development of credit risk policies to be employed for good credit risk management
- Liaise with Business Units and Support Units to develop, review and update Group Credit Risk Policy (Non-Retail) and other credit policies under Risk Policy's purview, whilst ensuring that such policies are in line with the best market practices and in conformance with both regulatory and Basel risk management guidelines
- Review / work with overseas banking branches / subsidiaries policy colleagues on localising Group-level credit risk policies (under the department's purview) for local use
- Implement and communicate updates to Group Credit Risk Policy (Non-Retail) and other credit risk policies under Risk Policy's purview to stakeholders
- Identify gaps and recommend credit risk management policies for consistent application across the Group
- Provide advisory support and interpretation of Group Credit Risk Policy (Non-Retail) and other credit risk policies under Risk Policy's purview to Business Units and Support Units as well as provide guidance to overseas banking subsidiaries / branches on credit risk policies
- Annual review of Risk Appetite Limit for Exclusion List Permitted Exemption credits.
- Provide trainings to users of credit risk policies under Risk Policy's purview
- Ad-hoc projects
People Management
- Manage and develop direct reporting staff
- Ensure effective utilization of manpower and responsible for monitoring operating cost effectiveness for Risk Policy
Regulatory Compliance
- Ensure credit policies under Risk Policy's purview are in conformance with regulatory requirements
- Stay informed about regulatory developments
Qualifications
- Bachelor Degree in Banking, Finance, Economics, Business, or related field or equivalent experience
- More than 15 years experience in credit risk analysis and management, and understanding of Basel and regulations preferred

- Good understanding of credit risk policies
- Strong knowledge of credit risk management and processes
- Familiar with Basel and regulatory landscape
- Demonstrated ability to see the big picture and provide useful advice to stakeholders on credit risk policy matters
- Ability to manage multiple priorities with minimum supervision
- Manage launch / dissemination of new credit risk policies
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, project management skills
- Highly organized and self-motivated
- Proven ability to interact and work across functional teams
- Open mind to embrace changes
- Proficiency with PC applications
