Position Overview
The Group Head of Finance is a key member of the executive leadership team, responsible for driving financial strategy, governance, scalability, and long-term value creation across 100+ outlets nationwide.
This role oversees group financial consolidation, outlet profitability optimization, capital strategy, expansion planning, risk management, and institutional-level financial governance to support aggressive growth and operational excellence.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting / Finance or equivalent.
- Professional qualification (ACCA / CPA / CIMA / MIA) is mandatory.
- Minimum 12–15 years of progressive finance experience.
- At least 5–8 years in senior leadership within F&B, retail chain, or multi-entity environment.
- Proven experience managing large-scale multi-outlet financial operations (50+ outlets preferred).
- Strong expertise in financial modeling, consolidation, treasury, and corporate structuring.
- Experience dealing with banks, investors, and board-level stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
1. Group Financial Strategy & Value Creation
- Develop and execute group-wide financial strategy aligned with corporate expansion plans.
- Lead long-term financial modeling, scenario planning, and strategic forecasting.
- Drive EBITDA growth, margin expansion, and return on invested capital (ROIC).
- Act as financial advisor to CEO and Board on mergers, acquisitions, franchising, and expansion initiatives.
- Lead IPO readiness / investor reporting initiatives (if applicable).
2. Multi-Outlet Profitability & Performance Management
- Oversee consolidated financial performance of 100+ outlets.
- Implement outlet-level P&L accountability framework.
- Drive food cost %, labour cost %, wastage control, and operating leverage optimization.
- Establish financial performance dashboards with real-time KPI tracking.
- Benchmark outlet performance and drive underperforming outlet turnaround strategies.
3. Capital Structure & Funding Strategy
- Lead capital raising initiatives, banking relationships, and financing structures.
- Manage working capital efficiency across all outlets.
- Optimize debt structure and funding for expansion (new outlets, central kitchen, automation).
- Oversee CAPEX governance and investment approval framework.
4. Governance, Risk & Compliance (Enterprise Level)
- Establish robust internal control framework across HQ, central kitchen, and all outlets.
- Implement enterprise risk management (ERM) framework.
- Strengthen audit governance, fraud prevention, and financial SOP standardization.
- Ensure full compliance with Malaysian regulatory requirements (Companies Act, LHDN, SST, etc.).
- Lead external audit, tax planning, and corporate structuring.
5. Group Consolidation & Reporting Excellence
- Oversee timely and accurate monthly consolidated management accounts.
- Develop board-level reporting packs with strategic insights.
- Enhance financial transparency and data-driven decision-making.
- Lead digital transformation of finance (ERP integration, POS consolidation, automation).
6. Expansion & Growth Enablement
- Conduct financial feasibility studies for new outlets and territories.
- Evaluate franchise vs company-owned expansion models.
- Support site selection through financial viability assessment.
- Drive post-investment performance tracking of new outlets.
7. Leadership & Organizational Development
- Build and lead a high-performance group finance team.
- Strengthen financial literacy across Operations leadership.
- Develop succession planning within finance function.
- Foster strong cross-functional alignment with Operations, Supply Chain, HR, and Marketing.
