Job Description

Our client is a leading multinational media organization seeking a Head of Shared Services (China Region) to lead and elevate its Kuala Lumpur-based Shared Services Centre, supporting a fast-growing China business. This is a high-impact leadership role, partnering closely with the CFO and regional leadership team to drive operational excellence, strengthen service delivery, and support continued regional growth.

The role involves leading and inspiring teams across AP, AR, and GL functions while building a high-performance, service-driven culture grounded in ownership and accountability. You will define and monitor KPIs and SLAs to ensure world-class delivery standards, while actively coaching and developing future-ready finance talent within the organization. A key part of the role includes overseeing end-to-end finance operations supporting China business units, ensuring accuracy and timeliness across payments, billing, reconciliations, and month-end close processes

In addition, you will strengthen governance, financial controls, and operational discipline across all processes, ensuring compliance with accounting standards and internal policies. The role partners closely with Finance Controllers, FP&A, senior stakeholders, and the CFO, supporting key strategic and transformation priorities. A strong focus will be on driving automation, standardization and process optimisation across Shared Services, including leading ERP and finance transformation initiatives to build scalable, efficient operating models that support future growth.

The ideal candidate will hold a degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline, with a professional qualification such as CPA, ACCA, CA, or CIMA preferred. You should bring at least 15 years of progressive finance experience, including leadership roles within Shared Services or Finance Operations. Strong experience in leading and developing teams, supporting China-facing stakeholders, and driving finance transformation is essential. A deep understanding of financial controls, governance, and SSC best practices is required, along with fluency in both Mandarin and English.
