Quantity Surveyor

Job Description.

Location: Subang Jaya

Full-time | On-site

Reports to: Senior Quantity Surveyor

Our client is looking for a Senior Quantity Surveyor to support exciting projects across sporting, commercial, and cultural environments. This role plays a key part in bringing projects to life—transforming empty spaces into vibrant, fully built environments for events and temporary structures locally and internationally.

The candidate will be responsible for cost estimation, budgeting, contract management, procurement, valuation of work, and ensuring projects are completed within budget while maintaining quality and compliance.

Key Responsibilities

• Work closely with the Head of Projects, Project Managers, and Account Managers throughout the full project lifecycle—from estimating to delivery to post-project reconciliation.
• Prepare BOQs, budget sheets, and essential project documentation.
• Develop project budgets and monitor costs throughout the project lifecycle.
• Coordinate with various internal teams to ensure timely delivery.
• Interpret client briefs and turn them into workable, costed solutions.
• Obtain and evaluate estimates from subcontractors and suppliers.
• Issue LPOs and follow internal accounting and administrative processes.
• Reconcile supplier costs and support project cost tracking.
• Attend site visits and project meetings; provide commercial advice during construction phases.
• Monitor project costs, identify cost-saving opportunities, and flag budget overruns.
• Provide regular cost reports and forecasts.
• Conduct post-project cost analysis for continuous improvement.
• Support ad-hoc tasks as required.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or diploma in Quantity Surveying or related field.
• Experience in estimating, project management, project administration, or CAD detailing—preferably in interior fit-out, construction, or event environments.
• Strong communication skills; able to think quickly under pressure.
• Methodical, detail-oriented, highly organized, and able to meet tight deadlines.
• Proficiency in MS Outlook, Word, and strong Excel skills.
• Working knowledge of construction materials, methods, and finishes in carpentry & joinery.
• Ability to interpret sketches and convert them into formal drawings.
• AutoCAD & SketchUp proficiency preferred.
• Knowledge of CANDY software is an added advantage.
• Able to work independently with minimal supervision and flexible with extended hours when required.

Salary Range: RM4,000 - RM5,000 (Negotiable)
